Wanneer je door West-Engeland reist, voel je je verbijsterd. In Avebury, vraag je je af waarom neolithische inwoners de grootste stenen cirkel in Europa bouwden. Bij Lacock, vraag je je af hoe de prachtige abdij een klooster, een brouwerij, een bakkerij en een huis is geworden. En in Bath denk je na over hoe Groot-Brittannië zou zijn geweest als de Romeinen nooit waren geweest. Dus tijdens deze tour geven we je tijd om de geheimen te onderzoeken en de schoonheid van deze beroemde historische locaties te begrijpen. Je gids laat je ronddwalen door de straten van Bath, waar de Georgische architectuur moeiteloos combineert met oude Romeinse kunstvoorwerpen. Je reist naar Lacock, waar de gammele oude rijstroken zijn gebruikt als filmlocatie voor Harry Potter, Downton Abbey en Pride and Prejudice. En je waagt je aan Avebury, waar de stenen monumenten eeuwenlang bezoekers, historici en archeologen hebben bedrogen. Niemand weet waarom de druïden dit oriëntatiepunt hebben gecreëerd. Maar we weten dat het groter en ouder is dan Stonehenge.
Na de lunch reizen we diep het landelijke Wiltshire in naar het dorp Lacock, beroemd om zijn pittoreske straatjes, historische gebouwen en rol als televisie- en filmlocatie. De abdij in het hart van het dorp heeft een eigen bosgebied en is een eigenzinnig landhuis met fascinerende bouwstijlen. Vrije tijd om door Lacock te dwalen of de abdij te bezoeken (een deel van Harry Potter is gefilmd in de prachtige kloostergangen van deze oude abdij).
Onze laatste stop van de dag is in het oude Romeinse kuuroord Bath. Deze stad wordt al ongeveer 2000 jaar bewoond. Er zijn Romeinse baden, Georgische architectuur en een prachtige abdij te zien. Het is een fascinerende stad om te verkennen, dus we geven je voldoende tijd om in je eigen tempo rond te dwalen voordat je in de vroege avond terugkeert naar Londen.

- Onze excuses, maar we kunnen kinderen jonger dan 5 jaar niet op onze tours ontvangen. Kinderen onder de 18 jaar moeten worden begeleid door een volwassene. Houd er rekening mee dat als dit beleid niet wordt gevolgd, we reizen moeten weigeren zonder restitutie. Bedankt voor uw begrip
- Bagagevrijdom: U bent beperkt tot 20 kg bagage per persoon. Dit moet één stuk bagage zijn dat vergelijkbaar is met een handbagage van een luchtvaartmaatschappij (ongeveer 55 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm) plus één kleine tas voor persoonlijke spullen aan boord.

Would have liked more time in Avebury to walk the stones and add a map of the paths. More time I Lothian with a walking map. Less time in the bigger city of Bath.
It was a comfortable ride, great tour guides who were greatly informed about the area. Every stop was beautiful and worth it. Two issues: Sound system needs improvement. I couldn’t make out a lot of what guide was saying over the PA system. Muffled. Hard to hear exactly what was said. It was also a bit hard to find the starting spot (I gave myself a lot of extra time to find it, which I’d recommend). Lastly, there was no toilet to use when we returned to London after a 3 plus hour ride from Bath. That was rough! Had to sprint across the street and locate toilet in Victoria Station. Just be aware of that!
Our guide/driver was terrific. The only thing that detracted from the experience was how little time we actually had in Bath. Once we arrived, we pretty much had to choose between eating and seeing as much of the town as we had hoped and expected to. We could've lived without the stop at Lacock. We would much rather have spent the time we could have saved by not going there, in Bath. We realize that the tube strike on the day we went slowed things down, but Lacock did not offer much despite it being a quaint hamlet.
Well worth the time and cost. There was much to see and learn. Our guide was very good as well.
The sites are completely self directed, which is fine, but different frkm several of the other tours The directions on the meetup spot from Viator were wrong and we nearly missed the tour. I'd advise that you double check via message about the pickup spot for the tour.
It was a small group. The driver was also our guide. He did a great job considering he had to fill two positions so to speak. He was very friendly and informative.
not enough time in bath to see everything and to much time at other stops with not much to see long trip by bus .
the travel time is quite long. the various stops are quite pleasant. The stone circle visit was much more interesting than bath.
Countryside lovely! Enjoyed & appreciated Rabbie's smaller bus w under 16 travelers! Wonderful tour company! Graham( Scottish) & the gentleman from Turkey were A+ tour directors. Fun, entertaining & educational narrations of locations visited! Wonderful day!👍😄
Rabbie's is our favorite tour group. The drivers are very interesting and helpful. The only negative was the length of time at Avebury. We found a restroom, grabbed a coffee and snapped a few nearby pics. The site is huge, and could probably use a full 90 minute stop. Lacock was pretty in the spring. Bath was a longer stop but we chose lunch and people watching instead of touring the baths. Our favorite part was a detour that routed us through some narrow country lanes, off the beaten track.
