Dit zijn niet alleen "oude sieraden". De Heilige Kroon van Hongarije heeft een dramatischer geschiedenis dan een Netflix-serie – het is gestolen, begraven, verloren en teruggebracht door de Amerikaanse overheid. U staat in de massieve, 27 meter hoge Koepelzaal, bewaakt door stoïcijnse bewakers met getrokken sabels, om de kroon en het gekantelde kruis van dichtbij te zien. Het is het symbolische hart van de natie. Je beklimt de Grand Stairway, een ruimte die zo weelderig is dat de meeste Europese paleizen eruit zien als een doe-het-zelf renovatie. Stel je voor dat je langs massieve granieten zuilen loopt – waarvan er slechts 12 in de hele wereld bestaan – onder plafonds die zijn beschilderd door Károly Lotz. Elke centimeter van de muren is bedekt met bladgoud en ingewikkelde fresco's die het verhaal vertellen van een duizend jaar oud koninkrijk. Parliament House is definitely worth seeing. It is a magnificent building. The audio tour was informative. However, the cost at over $100 per head was excessive for a tour which only lasted around 45 minutes. We were also unimpressed to arrive at the appointed time and being kept waiting on a hot day for the tour organiser to arrive. We felt that this was an example of demand pricing for a popular tourist attraction. Try booking directly on the official website but book well ahead.
The place is beautiful. The architecture is stunning.
Beautiful tour of the Hungarian parliament...good organization for receiving tickets...I recommend booking at least 2 weeks in advance
It took quite a long time to check the IDs. No indication of where I should report for the booking trip.....

Very well-told story 👍 nothing to say but.... The back and forth of identity checks to finally obtain an entry ticket for 7000 Ft when we paid 14000 Ft per person 👎 Data privacy is not respected when Rosi or her accomplice calls to retrieve her ID card, and a second time to finally get the access tickets.

Just ok. Only saw a few rooms. Nothing extraordinary, mostly very ordinary. Not worth the amount charged.

The tour was just ok. A lot of history, but done at the pace of the narrator. Understandably, it has to be done in groups because of the sensitivity of the building, but we were a little bored by the duration of it.
