In Sarchi zult u veel van de kunstambachten en souvenirs die Costa Rica te bieden heeft, kunnen waarderen. Ook zie je 's werelds grootste ossenkar volgens het Guinness Book. De kar is 2 verdiepingen hoog, bijna 14 meter lang en weegt 4400 lbs. (2 ton), en nam 70 dagen in beslag.
De indrukwekkende Arenalvulkaan is een prachtig natuurwonder dat zich bevindt in La Fortuna (Het Fortuin) van San Carlos, waarvan voorheen werd aangenomen dat het slapend was, tot in 1968, toen het een grote uitbarsting beleefde. Nu wordt bezocht door toeristen van over de hele wereld in de hoop op de mogelijkheid om getuige te zijn van vulkanische activiteit, zoals de witte rookpluimen die uit de kegelvormige kolos komen.
Als perfecte afsluiting van de dag zullen we ontspannen in een waar thermaal paradijs met een bevoorrechte locatie, een panoramisch uitzicht op de vulkaan en prachtige tuinen. Het heeft thermale mineraalbaden, die gevoed worden door de ondergrondse geologische formaties van de Arenal vulkaan. Daarnaast zijn er koude en warme zwembaden, gevoed door chemicaliënvrije bronnen uit het tropische bos. Het water stroomt vrij.

The guide (Pedro) and driver (Giovanni) were great! But the bus itself was uncomfortable: very small seats with little leg room. The tour is advertised as 12 hours but it took closer to 15. Long, exhausting day. Lunch was decent, but they didn’t serve coffee. Dinner was good, but the buffet line was long and we were rushed to eat quickly. People who can experience nausea are asked to take a Dramamine pill on the ride up/down the mountain. The dose they gave me was too strong and I ended up feeling drugged, dazed, and awful.

Amazing driver Rodrigue’s and tour guide Donald. Really beautiful scenery. Bus needs an upgrade it was too small for 3 hour drive.

Please do not book this tour. We were picked up at 7:30 AM and spent most of the day driving. The first stop at the ox cart was about 20 minutes with no explanation or information from the guide. After that, it was hours in the van with only a quick bathroom break until lunch around 1 PM. The volcano stop lasted about 15 minutes and felt extremely rushed—I couldn’t even get a clear photo before we had to leave. The hot springs stop was also short, with less than 2.5 hours before being rushed again to eat and head back. Overall, you spend only about 3 hours outside the vehicle, yet the tour runs from 7:30 AM to nearly 11 PM. There was no history or context provided at any stop. Very disappointing and felt like a waste of the entire day. I highly recommend going on your own—there are shuttle buses to La Fortuna for around $45 one way. Stay overnight and return the next day for a much better experience.

They canceled my tour on Friday (Thursday afternoon) and had only one option. Saturday. 16 hour day 7:30 am-11:30 pm. Guide was less than friendly to me while overly accommodating to others. Restaurants were very good. Driver amazing.
