Deze tour, door Due South Travels, is een 2 + uur durende begeleide wandeltocht door Antigua, een van UNESCO's werelderfgoedlocaties. Onze lokale Gids geeft u tonnen geweldige informatie, waaronder de geschiedenis van de stad en haar architectuur, de geografie, cultuur en religie van het historische en moderne Guatemala. Tijdens de tour bezoeken en bespreken we de belangrijke bezienswaardigheden van Antigua. We zullen het hebben over de vulkanen en aardbevingen die Guatemala heeft meegemaakt, de Maya etnische groepen, de Spaanse invasie en het moderne leven hier. Als u de jade musea wilt bezoeken of meer wilt weten over plaatsen om te eten en te drinken, een kopje koffie te drinken, enz., Vraag het dan aan uw Gids!

Deze Due South Travels tour loopt een ontspannen route van Iglesia de la Merced, 5a Avenida, door Central Park. Daarna bezoeken we de ruïnes van de kathedraal en rijden langs het Tanque Union Park en eindigen bij Iglesia de San Francisco.

barokke architectuur. Startpunt aan de voorzijde van de kerk. Als je naar binnen wilt, draag dan conservatieve kleding die bedekt is tot je ellebogen en knieën, en verwijder eventuele hoeden voordat je naar binnen gaat. (Je mag niet naar binnen tijdens een massadienst)

We eindigen hier met een bezoek aan de kerk en het graf van San Pedro. Als je de kerk wilt betreden, draag dan conservatieve kleding, bedekt tot je ellebogen en knieën, en verwijder hoeden. Je kunt niet binnenkomen terwijl de mis plaatsvindt.

Carlos was a great guide- it ended up just being two of us with him and we really enjoyed the private tour at our own pace. Carlos was very knowledgeable and personable and taught us a lot about the history of Antigua. He gave lots of recommendations and introduced us to the Jade museum. He went above and beyond- taking lots of pictures and videos of us with different sites. If I had known he was going to do a photo shoot I would have dressed cuter! Thanks Carlos!

It was fine. It was overpriced for what it was. We didn’t really see anything and our guide didn’t really teach us much and what he did say was hard for my partner to understand.

Really appreciated that Carlos waited a very long time for us to arrive as our bus from Puerto Quetzal was very delayed. We enjoyed the tour and the architectural details and context Carlos pointed out. Didn’t get to the old city or the cathedral ruins, but that might have been due to our time constraints. Great option to see many of the highlights and some sights we definitely would have missed without having a guide. Definitely recommend!

The tour guide was nice but she was injured and couldn’t walk much. We also had a difficult time hearing and understanding her at times. We hardly walked the city at all. She kept having us sit down after going only a short way. I am guessing because she needed to rest her bad knee. Considering this was a walking tour, I felt like it was a rip off. I think we could have learned and seen so much more on a different tour. I cannot recommend this one. But I wish the very best for our guide’s recovery from her injury.

We paid just a few dollars extra for the private tour, and it was well worth it. Our guide, Carlos, was super knowledgeable and personable. He told such interesting information and stories about Antigua, and he was very patient while we did a little shopping :).
