Dagtour Sakkara, Memphis & Dahshur Uw gids voor de dag haalt u op en begint uw rondleiding met een rit door het platteland naar Sakkara om de Step Pyramid te zien - de eerste piramide die werd gebouwd en de omliggende monumenten. Uw gids zal u een gedetailleerde geschiedenis geven over Imhotep, de Egyptische architect die deze piramide heeft gemaakt en hoe hij deze grote onderneming heeft volbracht. Als we klaar zijn met het verkennen van dit gebied bezoeken we de Piramide van Teti met zijn gegraveerde teksten, en verschillende privégraven.
De Piramide van Teti, gelegen in Saqqara, Egypte, is een betoverend oud bouwwerk gebouwd als laatste rustplaats voor farao Teti. Deze piramide is een bewijs van de vindingrijkheid en architectonische bekwaamheid van het Oude Koninkrijk en trekt bezoekers uit de hele wereld met zijn indrukwekkende omvang en historische betekenis. Verken de kamers en gangen van deze piramide om de mysteries van het oude Egypte te ontrafelen en jezelf onder te dompelen in de rijke geschiedenis van deze iconische bezienswaardigheid.
Hierna volgt een bezoek aan het openluchtmuseum in Memphis waar de Kolossus van Ramses de II, het grootste standbeeld van Ramses de Grote te zien is op de plaats waar het ontdekt is, zie de Albasten Sfinx ernaast.
De rode piramide en de gebogen piramide liggen ongeveer 2 km ten zuiden van de Mastaba Faraoun. De bouwer van deze piramides wordt verondersteld Snofru te zijn geweest (2575 - 2551 voor Christus), die de eerste heerser was van de 4e dynastie. Snofru bouwde deze twee piramides en zou de piramide gebouwd hebben in Maidoun. Zijn zoon was Cheops die zijn constructieve neigingen voortzette. Op de terugweg naar Cairo zullen we stoppen bij een plaatselijke school voor tapijt maken, waar je de lokale wimpersvingerige kinderen tapijten en wandkleden ziet weven. Aan het einde van de dag transfer je terug naar het hotel.

Had a beautiful day with Shadi, he knows a lot about the history of Sakkara and Dahshur and the stops were long enough. We did the Papyrus and Carpet museum too, with a nice private guide. Optional buying, felt no pressure to do so. Great day!

Let me begin with the fact that we had a great Holiday in Egypt. lovely people so I won't let this one bad exp undermine our positive experience. We booked a day trip for saqqara, dashur and memphis which under heading said with lunch. When asked about it, we were told that it is extra service and it is just the title "a day trip with lunch". This is misleading, and no one takes the ownership. Is it the viator, driver, or the owner of the car or manager. They would keep passing the buck. To make the matter worse, the car cum trip owner started bombarding me with whatsApp messages, screenshots and was extremely rude accusing me of paying low and demand service. I chose not to retaliate. Our bad exp contd. When we reached Memphis, the entry was closed because we reached 10 mts late. Driver who was very good, but did not know the timings at all. This happened despite we not spending any extra time on any of the sites like dashur or saaquara. We did not even enter the pyramids, did not stop for lunch and yet we missed it and no one informed us about the timings. We lost time because they invariably make you stop at various shopping places, whether u want or not. Not good. I expect the owner to once again retaliate post my review as he has done with other customers. Our driver John was very good though and we still made the best of time we had together. As I said, we had a good time overall in Egypt.
