Ontdek de geschiedenis van de koning van het voetbal. We bezoeken het oudste actieve stadion van het land. Daarna passeren we het "Rei Pelé Training Center" en komen we aan in het historische centrum waar het Pelé Museum is gevestigd. Daarin worden displays getoond die verwijzen naar het leven van het voetbalgenie en de geschiedenis van de 4 World Cups waaraan hij deelnam en 3 keer wereldkampioen werd. Daarna bezoeken we het monument "Jersey 10" bij de ingang van de stad. Daarna gaan we naar het Oecumenische Necropolis Memorial, waar het lichaam van de koning rust. Ten slotte zullen we de zeebries voelen tijdens een panoramische tocht langs het strand om de strandsfeer te ervaren waar de koning zijn talent toonde. Het is tijd voor een stop bij een beroemde bakkerij waar fans en oud-spelers elkaar meestal ontmoeten om Santos-wedstrijden te bekijken. En eindig met een bezoek aan het Santos Convention Center om de gigantische muurschildering van de beroemde kunstenaar Eduardo Kobra te bewonderen die Pelé afbeeldt in het shirt van het nationale team en met Santos op zijn borst geschreven.

Er is het Estádio Urbano Caldeira, het oudste stadion in activiteit in het land, waar we het Memorial of the Achievements of Santos F.C. zullen bezoeken, dat duizenden toeristen ontvangt uit verschillende delen van Brazilië en de wereld. Ongeacht juichen voor andere tijden, iedereen heeft recht op de veroveringen van de "Leão do Mar". We gaan een complete rondleiding doen, met een bezoek aan de trofeeënkamer, perskamer, kleedkamers en grasveld.

So much of Santos is rooted in Pele that it was great to understand more of the history. Although some of this tour was related to a work project, it would have been enjoyable even if it were not. As well, I’ve booked many tours with Gregtur and they have all been wonderful! However, this was the first guide who brought me a bottle of water so extra props to Diogo for caring about his client!

I was lucky that it was just me, so it was a private tour where I was driven around the town of Santos by Diogo, a local who speaks very good English and has alot of knowledge about Pelé. He took me on the tour of Urbano Caldeira stadium and translated everything for me, and did the same in the Pelé museum where he also introduced me to the directors and they made me feel like a VIP! We also went to the Pelé statue in town, an his gravesite. While we were driving around Santos, he explained about the history of Santos and some facts and information about the town and the things we drove past. All-in-all it was a very eventful day! Definitely worth the money and the journey, with lots of great photos and memories!

Wow! What an informative and pleasant tour. Our guide knew so much about Pele, the City of Santos, and Santos Futebol Club that even our kids, ages 11, 9 and 7 kept interest in the tour all day. We visited several landmarks in the city, ate great food, saw the Pele Museum, Santos Stadium, the waterfront, Beautiful beachfront gardens, Peles tomb and topped off the day with some delicious Brazilian Prato Feitos. Everywhere we went, people told us some more about Pele and we even met Pele’s personal barber. Our guide took some great family shots of us wherever we went.

I always went to Santos, but I was so quick to enjoy the beach, so this time it was different. I decided to explore the cloudy city and I recommend it. Pelé Museum is a must-see Free entry, a chronological collection of the history of King Pelé. It's moving to see how an idol was so recognized worldwide and won so much. And wow, he graduated in Physical Education and became successful in the world 🌍 Too bad the cable car only operates on weekends Oh soon the place will expand 🤩
