Liefhebbers van het buitenleven zullen genieten van wandelen langs het Atlantische Woud helemaal tot aan de hoogste top van São Paulo, waar toeristen kunnen bogen op het meest magnifieke uitzichtpunt van de stad in contrast met de natuur. Als je naar het staatspark Jaraguá gaat, op 40 minuten van het centrum van São Paulo, zul je een frisse neus halen en het eindeloze São Paulo vanuit verschillende perspectieven waarderen, te midden van een van de laatste overblijfselen van het Atlantische Woud in de stad. De wandeling heeft als hoofddoel het bereiken van twee uitkijkposten waar toeristen een 360 graden uitzicht hebben over São Paulo, op een hoogte van 1.135 meter, omgeven door een ongelooflijk landschap. Het parcours is 3.600 meter, heen en terug, ligt grotendeels in de schaduw, variërend van lichte tot gemiddelde moeilijkheidsgraad, alleen aan het einde wordt het steiler. De top van de berg ligt op ongeveer 90 minuten lopen van de hoofdingang van het park, in een langzaam tempo. Dieren, met name kleine zijdeaapjes stuiteren rond de bomen, kapucijnaapjes, toekans, luiaards en vele anderen, kunnen worden gezien tijdens wandelingen, weelderig landschap.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Monica, my tour guide in São Paulo. From the first moment, she was very punctual, kind, and patient. Throughout the entire hike, she explained the history of the hill, the surroundings, and many interesting details about the city and its surroundings with great knowledge. The hike was over 8 km, with a demanding ascent, but every step was worth it. What made this experience really special were the small details: upon arriving at a beautiful spot at the top, she prepared a charming picnic with a beautiful blue checkered tablecloth and a wide variety of food options. She was always attentive to everything I needed and made sure that I felt comfortable and enjoyed every moment. On the way back, she introduced me to the music of Rita Lee, explaining to me who this great Brazilian artist was, and she also sent me recommendations for other music-related places that I want to explore in São Paulo. And to complete a perfect day, she took some spectacular photographs for me that will be a wonderful memory of this experience. I highly recommend Monica. Her professionalism, human warmth, and attention to detail made this an excellent experience in São Paulo.

It was an enjoyable walk. Wouldn't recommend it for people that are out of shape. The reward (read, top of the mountain) was great. A great view of the largest city in the world.

Luis took us on a great tour. We were a party of 12 and he was extremely patient. We saw monkeys, birds and a sloth. The views were incredible from the top. Reward yourself with a very cold coconut drink at the top.

This trip was exceptional. First, you hike through the rainforest, and at the end you’re rewarded with incredible views over São Paulo. Along the way, you can spot interesting wildlife in their natural habitat, especially monkeys. My guide, Luiz, explained the animals and plants of the rainforest in great detail and helped me find monkeys hidden in the tree branches. At the top of the mountain, he also pointed out and explained which parts of São Paulo I was looking at. I was very satisfied.

We had a fantastic experience on the Jaraguá Park tour, and the tour company was excellent from the start. They messaged us the day before to clearly reiterate all the details, including what to expect and what we needed to bring for the hike, which made everything smooth and stress-free. Our group of six included two vegans and four vegetarians, and our guide Rafael went above and beyond. He was incredibly thoughtful and surprised us with a variety of vegan snacks, which we truly appreciated. Rafael was an absolute sweetheart—warm, friendly, and genuinely passionate about his city. He was extremely knowledgeable and shared fascinating insights about how the city has grown, as well as its history, throughout the hike. His love for the area really came through and made the experience even more special. We had such a great time with him and highly recommend this tour, especially if you’re looking for a guide who is kind, attentive, and truly cares about providing a memorable experience.
