4-daagse Salkantay-trektocht naar Machu Picchu met overnachting in de Sky Domes Eco-Lodge

I did the Salkantay Trek with Incredible Peru Tours and it was just spectacular. From day one, everything was perfectly organized. Our guide was amazing: attentive, fun and very knowledgeable about Inca history and culture. The accommodations exceeded my expectations: comfortable and well-equipped domes, with stunning landscapes upon waking. The food was another high point: delicious and hearty throughout, prepared by a chef who really knows what he does. The tour itself is demanding, but totally worth it for the scenery and connection with nature. Arriving in Machu Picchu walking after such intense days was a unique feeling. I recommend this agency 100%. Everything was safe, well organized and full of details that make a difference.

This was an incredible experience. Each hike always had an amazing ending, in terms of views and in terms of places to stay. Our guide (Herbert) is a fantastic person and would recommended him with my eyes closed. He was always looking out for us and making sure everything was smooth and ready. This trip is the perfect balance between challenging hikes and relaxing time. Peruvians are one of the best people I’ve met and made our trip memorable. The food, traditional and fantastic. I would recommend to make the reservation with at least two months in advance, so that the reservations (restaurants, hotels, and transportation) are all ready and aligned. We did the reservation with three months and it was perfect.

Salkantay Trek was as good as we had hoped. Great nature and culture. Machu Picchu was magical. We were lucky with the weather despite some rain. Our guide Hector was a rock all the way, and the chef, drivers and the apparatus around worked well. Thank you to Incredible Peru Tours!

We had an amazing track alongside Pat towards Machu Picchu. The scenery was amazing as was the food, but the experience was made a lot better by our guide Hector and the team at IPT. While the track was difficult at times Hector was very accommodating and encouraging. Hector provided lots of information about the Incas and his passion for the history was great to experience. Highly recommend this trek!!

The trek was great (despite weather not being perfect). But, our guide Gilber made our experience better than what we could have hoped for. We realised how much having such a great guide meant to us - his enthusiasm, extensive local knowledge, responsiveness and care for us in the face of unexpected landslides, Gilber really made our trip memorable and inspiring.

We got very sick and the company did not provide the guide w a first aid kit or oxygen balloon as advertised in the itinerary! It didn’t end there. I had to pay 200$ out of pocket to get us by taxi to lower elevation. We drove on dangerous roads and I thought I’d die. Then had to buy our own bus ticket from machu pichu. No I wasn’t going to walk down after a 16mi hike the previous day, and walking at 5am. Then we were stuck in aguas calientes until our 4pm train.. all day! The itinerary stated that the train would take us back to Cusco and would cover our transport to the hotel. We had to then take a bus which was covered but hard to find the bus. And then I had to get an Uber to my hotel. We did not arrive back at our hotel till after 9:30 PM having not eaten. Overall, this tour company did not take into consideration The stress this put on my family and offered no partial refund. Would not recommend the tour company at all.

An unforgettable experience, Gilber and his boys took care of us and accompanied us, we felt very safe. Florentin's food, a real luxury.

The Salkantay trek was one of the best trips I have done. Our guides, Abraham and Luis, were incredibly knowledgeable and thoughtful with our group. The accommodations are incredibly unique, the chefs are amazing at preparing local food to fill you up before and after a hard hike, and the scenery is breathtaking. Our trip flowed seamlessly from start to finish and Abraham truly made it an experience we will never forget. We are so grateful to have had this experience and cannot wait to return again.

Our guide Herbert was great. You could tell he genuinely wanted us to have a good time. In regard to Incredible Peru Tours as a tour company I would strongly suggest not using them 1) What is listed on Viator, Trip Advisor, Get Your Guide, etc. is wrong. There were no porters or muleteers and we had to carry our belongings. This wouldn't have been a problem had we known in advance...they told us the day before and we spent more money trying to accomodate. 2) It says you get on a 6 P.M. train to go home; the tour company booked our tickets the day before (we know this because they were on the phone with our guide) and because the 6 P.M. train was sold out, we were sent home on a 9:50 PM train. Our Air BnB wouldn't let us in because it was so late and canceled our accomodation with no refund. We then had to find an entirely different place to stay. We had a good time because it is a beautiful hike. But there are plenty of tour comapanies in Cusco. Stay away from this one.

The Salkantay trek exceeded all of my expectations. If you want a high quality trekking experience this is for you. Abraham and his team were excellent and exceeded all expectations. They made sure that the group was cohesive and ensured there were stops during the day to both allow people to catch their breath and give information about the area, culture or flora and fauna along the path. He adjusted the planned schedule daily based on our abilities and enabling us to get the most enjoyment out of the whole experience. Thank you Incredible Peru Tours.
