4-daagse Mount Meru Trekking
Beschrijving
Mount Meru staat op een hoogte van 4.566 m en markeert de op een na hoogste berg van Tanzania en de op vijf na hoogste berg van het Afrikaanse continent. Het onderscheidende uiterlijk werd ongeveer 250.000 jaar geleden gevormd door een enorme vulkaanuitbarsting die de hele oostelijke flank vernietigde en een hoefijzervormige krater achterliet. Mount Meru heeft niet alleen een indrukwekkend uitzicht en gevarieerde vegetatie, het geeft je ook de kans om wat wilde dieren te zien in de vorm van een wandelsafari. Tijdens je trek kun je grote spellen tegenkomen, zoals giraffen, buffels, bavianen, olifanten, antilopen en colobusapen. Naarmate de vegetatie verandert van dicht bergbos in heide en heide en uiteindelijk alpine woestijn, wordt de frequentie van dieren die je ziet schaarser, waardoor je je focus verschuift van dieren naar landschap. Tijdens je rondleiding word je vergezeld door een bewapende parkwachter.

We did the 4 days Mount Meru trek with Simon, Joseph and Sagillo were so outstanding. They led the amazing team that got us to safely climb Mount Meru. This trek was still challenging and required the efforts and experience from our crew. They guided us day after day through the tough terrain. We had excellent equipment with us, like the tents that kept off the rain, enough food and water and all the necessary supplies. The six of us completed the trek and are now back safely home. I have to thank Jackson who made all this possible and his team at the office. Asante sana.
We planned our Mt Meru trek for a couple of months and working with Jackson was a great experience. He took us through the ropes with his detailed explanations, pre-trek info, travel requirements and so on and so on. The trek was great, and we were lucky that the weather was great. Guide Kimario was on top of his game making our trek safe, fun and a romantic couple experience. They provided us with great three hot meals, snacks, candy and hot chocolate, coffee, juices and water. Maua provided waterproof ziploc bags, gaiters and other necessary equipment. Kimario was very thorough in his approach, health checks every evening, briefing on the next day's activities..... We had an awesome experience and will definitely go on the next adventure with Maua Adventures. They are really good
