Marangu-poort (1.800 m / 5.905 voet) naar Mandara Hut (2.743 m / 9.000 voet) Hoogteverschil: 915 meter, 3.000 voet Verlaat de levendige, kleurrijke Moshi vroeg voor de rit naar Marangu Gate, de drempel van de prachtige Kilimanjaro. Het is maar een uur rijden, maar je zult betoverd worden door het landschap - koffie- en bananenplantages, door het pittoreske dorp Marangu, met Kilimanjaro majestueus voor je oprijst. We registreren je bij de Marangu-poort (omdat we je niet willen verliezen!) En dan begint je avontuur. Eerst is het geribbelde pad smal als je door het regenwoud dwaalt. Het is weelderig en mistig, met de bomen versierd met mos. De baldakijn leeft met vogelgezang en vreemde ritsels - is dat een colobus? De mangoest kan voor je uit elkaar vallen. Je zult ook vermoeide wandelaars ontmoeten die afdalen van de top. Geef ze een high five voor inspanning. De wandeling naar Mandara Hut duurt ongeveer drie uur, dus stop even om je benen te laten rusten en een smakelijke lunch te nuttigen in de Hut en zodra je jezelf hebt aangevuld, maak je een korte maar uitdagende wandeling naar de Maundi Crater. Op een heldere dag is het uitzicht naar het oosten over Taveta en naar het noordwesten naar de Mawenzi-piek adembenemend. Vergeet je camera niet! Nadat je hebt genoten van de schoonheid ervan, wandel je terug naar de Marangu-poort waar ons voertuig op je wacht om je, moe maar gelukkig, terug te brengen naar Moshi. Deze Kilimanjaro-dagwandeling is geschikt voor de meeste mensen, zelfs als je een beetje ongeschikt bent!

AMAZING! We had no clue what to expect as we are not hikers. The views gorgeous. Hike took about 8 hours which we weren’t prepared for but our guides were so sweet. They allowed us to go our pace. Then we danced and sang the whole way back. They showed us the best little picture spots. Took a million photos of us. We had a WHOLE time. 10/10 recommend!!!
