2 Dagen 1 Nacht Mikumi Nationaal Park Vanuit Dar es Salaam door (SGR)

We spent two days and one night at Mikumi Park!!! We did two safaris over two days, pickup in Dar es Salaam, train and taxi to the park.... At the park entrance, delicious meal, the hotel was top-notch..... The guide as well as the driver were very professional, friendly, and kind. We were lucky to see many animals: giraffes, lion, elephants, zebra, monkeys, hippopotamus, crocodile….. Perfect, exceptional!!! The icing on the cake, we were given a surprise breakfast in the bush! Unforgettable experience… Thanks to the whole team for having made this moment exceptional!!! You can go there with your eyes closed

We went on a 2-day, 1 night safari to Mikumi National Park, from Friday 17 to Saturday 18 July 2026, starting in Dar es Salaam. Fast response by owner via Whatsapp on quotation and enquiries. All staff part of the journey were helpful and on time and could be contacted through Whatsapp as well. All ticketing incl. train from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro was arranged beforehand by the team. Payment 20% deposit up front, could be paid by online link using your creditcard/ideal (using wetravel.com). 80% upon arrival at hotel (debit/creditcard). Journey as follows: Pickup from hotel, drop off at train, pick up from train to the entrance of the National Park where they arranged our permits after which we were brought to hotel (Mikumi wildlife lodge) for lunch. After lunch we left for our afternoon safari. Followed by dinner (buffet and bbq) back in the hotel. In the early morning another safari and after breakfast returning to Dar es Salaam by car/train. Train experiences were pleasant, clean trains, takes about 1.5 hours, drive from train to the entrance of the National Park after about 2.5 hrs. Make sure to be at the train station about 30 minutes in advance as there will be some checks along the way, luggage through scanner, weighing of luggage (20 kg/person) checking of passport and matching names on tickets. The recently opened Mikumi Wildlife Lodge is highly recommended, beautiful hotel and great location with superb views, upon arrival we were lucky spotting an elephant just walking away from a large natural pond. Very friendly and helpfull staff, especially the manager who regularly checked up with us to check whether everything was ok. Food was good (but admittingly not great). Both safaris were great (each about 3 hrs), for most of the group of 4 our first safari. We saw most of the wildlife up close (lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes but also babboons (look for them at the entrance), impala's, boars and hippos). No rhinos there and we didn't see the leopards. The most special encounter was when we ran into 10 lions who were resting after having finished eating an impala. Tip: spot the vultures and you will be close to where the action has been. All in all a great experience and highly recommended.

Our guide Benson gave one advice before we started the safari:[ Don’t worry about what you will or will not see. Nature is a therapy - just leave yourself to nature and enjoy the moment] We started with this in mind and yet got to see all we wished for up close . Was a wondeful trip, once in a lifetime one . We visited mikumi with my girlfriend, Mikumi holiday safaris team was amazing very knowledgeable and charming We saw so many animals and we really enjoyed, I recommend everyone who want safari in Tanzania to contact them, Asante sana and we will definitely do it again next time!!

Honestly a 10/10 experience seeing as we booked very last minute but everything exceed our expectations , the whole team was super helpful and accommodating , Benson , hussieni, nasari and Jefferson . Jefferson was our tour guide for the safari and he really was the highlight of the trip he made it unforgettable.

We really had 2 wonderful days. We were picked up from the hotel on time and safely driven to the port, from there it was 1.5 hours by ferry to the mainland, once there we were received directly and we continued by car towards Mikumi Safari Park. Back we took the plane from Safari Park directly to Zanzibar. The procedures were super organized, we had the best Safari Guide Benson, he was mega likeable and professional, explained and showed us a lot. Thank you for the amazing experience!!

Everything was perfect. We saw elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, hippos, crocodiles etc. It was much better than we expected. Benson was a perfect guide. Everything was precisely organized from the first minute.

It was a 10 out of 5!! Benson is a very experienced and great guide, not only interested in the animals but also the birds! An absolute must visit when in Tanzania. The respect for nature is something Benson is breathing through his lungs!

Great experience on safari with Benson. Stayed for one night and two safaris and saw plenty, including a lioness hunting zebra's. Benson was a great tour guide and full of knowledge about the animals. Was fantastic price and well worth the money, highly recommend to anyone looking to do a safari in Tanzania

We spent a month in Tanzania and this safari was the highlight of the entire trip! It was the first safari I have been on, and it exceeded all of my expectations - never did I expect to see such a variety of animals up close and personal! Benson was a fantastic guide with an obvious passion for animals and he made sure we saw as much as possible, and shared some of his huge wealth of knowledge about them. I would not hesitate to go on this safari again!
