We were picked up from our Airbnb on time both days. We had a wonderful tour guide, Emeterio, who speaks English and Spanish. Emeterio explained the rich history of Monte Alban and always answered our questions. This 2 day tour was fun and we were able to buy Handmade crafts from the villages we stopped in. We recommend this tour and Emeterio as the tour guide.
That is great knowing you enjoyed your tour. Hope you return soon to Oaxaca . Kind Regards.
Excellent tour in the most emblematic points of the area, Service and attention of 1st. The punctual and very professional guides in their performance
Hola. Muchas gracias por sus comentarios! Los esperamos nuevamente cuando deseen seguir disfrutando de nuestro destino =) un abrazo fuerte
This was the tour of a lifetime. Our guide, Victor shared the history which was amazing. Visiting all of the artisans and watching them work was so very interesting. We were a group of 13 with 2 children and loved every minute. I would highly recommend this tour.
they switched the days at the last minute. hierve al agua became the first day, and i didn't have my swim clothes. :( the tour guide this day was great though. the second day was to monte alban, but the guide didn't speak english (english tour). he randomly found an english tour and told me to join. the people in the spanish group joined a spanish tour and there were at least 40 people in that group even though the description says it is semi-private with usually less than 14 people. i skipped the rest of the tour and just stayed at monte alban then took a cab back to oaxaca.
It was an awesome experience, our guide was so knowledgeable, we couldn’t be happier. I highly recommended
If you want a little more exclusivity, calm to know the places and do not want crowding of people, this is not the best option. In the description, they comment that they are groups of no more than 14 people. But that's inside the van. When they arrive in the locations, they gather several other groups and it is a guide only for the entire prison. At the maximum they divide who speaks Spanish from who speaks English (and there English leads to the advantage, as the groups are usually smaller). The places are beautiful and worth seeing! But there are so many people that we even lose the desire to take pictures and enjoy a little more. The lunches I tb found kind of "complicated"... are free buffets of Mexican food (if c doesn't like, don't expect to find alternative options) and the whole galera comes together to serve. If you want to repeat or leave to use later, forget; they don't get back and some things just end up.
Hi Bruna, Many thanks for your feedback. We are happy to hear an opportunity area. You are right usually our groups are around 14 people, unfortunately as you saw during your stay, the sites were full of tourists due the proximity of the high season, which might complicate the operation of our tours. Last thing we want is to mislead our customers, that said, we have added a note in the tour description stating that in rare occasions our customers might be part of a bigger group, yet, will depend on the operation of the day. You have mentioned as well about the restaurant options, you are right, during operation of this tour, we perform a de-tour to take the lunch usually in Buffet restaurants, which better fits the general need for majority of customers. Albeit, if customers want something in special a la carte menu is available. It is a shame our guide didn’t hear about this during your visit, he would have been happy to assist you. In the other hand, about the time and space for pictures in the sites; I’m agree with you, if the site is full of tourism, it is difficult to take the best picture without people, and I’m totally agree with you, this can be annoying. Unfortunately, this is something we don’t have control. I know it is late for another recommendation, but in case you have family or friends who wants to visit Mitla or Monte Alban routes, we offer private services, those are perfect for smalls groups or families, this would be a dedicated service with plenty of time without depending of a group. In case you want to recommend those services you can find them as “Private Family Tour visiting Mitla” or “Private Family Tour to visit Monte Alban”. Thanks for taking our tour.
