My 13-year-old son and I recently fulfilled our seven-year-long dream of visiting Machu Picchu, and we couldn't have chosen a better trek company than Inca Trail Explorer. We opted for a one-day Inca trail trek, and our guide, Juan, made the experience truly unforgettable. Juan's expertise and dedication were evident from the start. He guided us safely and comfortably through the trail, all while sharing fascinating details about the flora and fauna along the way. What stood out the most was Juan's ability to bring the rich history of the Inca culture to life. Through planned history lessons and spontaneous conversations, he provided deep insights into the trail, the Inca settlements, and their culture. The breathtaking beauty of the mountains around Machu Picchu and the Inca trail itself played a huge part in our fantastic experience, but it was Juan who truly made it exceptional. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and storytelling skills added so much value to our trek. We had an amazing time, and I wholeheartedly recommend Inca Trail Explorer, especially if you're lucky enough to have Juan as your guide. This trip was a perfect blend of natural beauty and historical exploration. 10/10 recommend!
Thank you so much for an amazing Inca Trail with the team. I had a magical experience, from day 1 to the arrival at Machu Picchu. I couldn't believe how much they have done all along the way. We met the day before to prepare the trip, they took me in and back to the trail, they'v booked all the tickets (Machu Picchu, Huayana Picchu, The Vistadome train, the bus..), they carried all the gears to sleep and cook, and they prepared amazing food all along the way. I really had a great taste of Peruvian, Local food, freshly cooked on the spot. It felt like a restaurant on the trail! My guide knew everything inside out and answered all of my questions along the way. I really felt like it was a very special experience, with everything taken care of for me, all I had to do was to walk, and enjoy the trail. I am forever grateful for this experience and looking forward for another trail together!
The two day small group experience was perfect. Juan de Dios was an amazing guide that provided a wealth of knowledge experience, and history for us. The porters and chef were friendly and clearly work hard to make the experience flawless. The food was amazing, fresh and plentiful (I would have eaten more at every meal of I could have). I enjoyed the campsite at the river which provided a great sense of being in nature with the sounds of the water and felt like staying at a friend's campsite. The hike was a mix of easy, hard, up and downs but very manageable for anyone that has some kind of regular fitness routine (I clocked 20k steps and 2500ft elevation on the hiking day). I took Diamox and stayed hydrated and had no issues with the altitude. Great experience and we were very fortunate to have perfect weather on the hike. Thanks Juan de Dios and Inka Trail Explorers for an memorable adventure of a lifetime!
Juan de Dios was a great guide on the short Inca trail! My fellow tourists canceled but I’m sure he would let his tour members go at their own pace like he did for me on my first long hike. He gave a lot of historical information and explanations of the culture surrounding the Inca trail and Machu Picchu and showed some cool plants and flowers and animals (though rare) on the way there. Liliana at the office was also very responsive and informative when booking the tour!
That is the most excellent way to visit the wonder of the world, Machu Picchu. Thanks to Juan de Dios, the guide, to share so many stories about the Incas. Fully recommended.
I could not get permit to hike the Inca Trail so I ended up hiking the shorter two day trail. It weas quite easy and we didi visit three sites before visiting Machu Picchu. The views were just incredible all the way from start to the end. They gave us walking sticks so it was not quite daunting.
An incredibly organised tour to Machu Picchu on this short Inca Trail. We saw three Inca ruins before reaching Machu Picchu through the emblematic sungate. Juan is a remarkable tour guide. A basic box lunch was included on the first day which was nice. The trek was somewhat challenging at first as we were not acclimatised well. It was a very nice experience to know about the history and culture.

It was a perfect two day trek with Juan de Dios as our guide. Everything was just right from start to the end. Me and my wife had a nice time hiking. The guide was very kind and patient. Well worth it

We booked the Inca Trail at short notice (3 weeks in advance). there were problems with permits but Juan made a great effort and made it possible for us to start another day. Along the way he explained many things. It was great!

Did this 2 day hike on Inca Trail to Machu Picchu with Juan de dios as a guide because i could not get a permit to hike the 4 day trail. It was just a wonderful experience. I wasn´t aware that the trail has some interesting Inca ruins along the way too. Certainly it was a good value for the money.
