Het St. Nicolaasklooster, een van de oudste en grootste kerken uit het Byzantijnse tijdperk en een van 's werelds parels van Byzantijnse architectuur, ligt in het zuiden van het dorp Mesopotam aan de rand van Saranda, zeer dicht bij de oude stad Finiq. Er wordt aangenomen dat het klooster in 1224 of 1225 is gebouwd. Het werd ooit omsloten door een ronde muur die vandaag de dag slechts gedeeltelijk bewaard is gebleven. De dubbele apsis maakt het uniek in zijn genre, en sommige onderzoekers hebben de hypothese naar voren gebracht dat dit te wijten was aan het feit dat het klooster werd gebruikt voor twee religieuze rituelen (katholiek en orthodox).
De "Blue Eye" (Albanees: Syri i Kaltër) is een waterbron en natuurverschijnsel dat voorkomt in het dorp Muzinë in de gemeente Finiq, Zuid-Albanië. Een populaire toeristische attractie, het helderblauwe water van de rivier is te zien vanaf een diepte van meer dan vijftig meter. Duikers zijn afgedaald tot vijftig meter, maar het is nog onduidelijk wat de werkelijke diepte van het karstgat is
Gjirokastra, ook wel de stenen stad genoemd, wordt sinds 2005 beschermd door UNESCO. Het is een van de laatste steden in Ottomaanse stijl die nog over is op de Balkan.
Lekursi Castle (Kajala e Lëkurësit) is een kasteel op de Lekursi-heuvel, net achter Saranda met een geweldig uitzicht over de stad en de baai, waardoor dit het meest populaire en iconische uitkijkpunt van Saranda is.

It was a lovely trip, well-paced. Even though we visited 4 places, it didn’t feel rushed. We got to Blue Eye at 10am and beat the crowds, which was excellent. I recommend taking the train to the spring as it’s quite a walk and there’s no shade. We had 2.5 hours in Gjirokaster, which was enough to visit Gjirokaster Castle and have a quick snack. The castle is magnificent and definitely worth a visit! I highly recommend this tour.

The amazing trip started with the Monastery of Saint Nicholas before moving on to the Blue Eye, then to Gjirokastër, which was a beautiful stone village. The mountain range along the way was absolutely spectacular. We ended the tour at Lëkurësi Castle near Sarandë, which was the final destination and had absolutely phenomenal panoramic views for taking photos. Our two guides, Angelino and Aemil, were absolutely wonderful!
