Deze tempel is absoluut prachtig en tot nu toe een van de favorieten in vergelijking met vele andere heiligdommen in Japan. Er zijn hier veel minder toeristen waardoor u kunt genieten van de omgeving. De sjabloon is zo goed bewaard gebleven en heeft veel kleine heiligdommen en een poort bij de nadering ervan met prachtige bomen en planten en lantaarns rondom. Er zijn ook tal van kleine restaurants en plekken om souvenirs te kopen. We hadden echt een leuke wandeling om dit te zien - 25 minuten van het station van Nagano en het was de wandeling zeker waard. Echt een prachtige plek.
Monzen Terrace Enya is een geweldige plek om uit eten te gaan in Nagano, Japan. Een beetje weg van het centrum van Nagano, maar het is vrij dicht bij de Zenkoji-tempel en wordt ten zeerste aanbevolen als accommodatie. Het eten is een fantasierijke mix van westerse (bijvoorbeeld pizza en pasta) en Japanse stijlen.
Het Jigokudani Monkey Park (地獄谷野猿公苑, Jigokudani Yaen Kōen) biedt bezoekers de unieke ervaring om wilde apen te zien baden in een natuurlijke warmwaterbron. Je stapt uit het voertuig en maakt een rustige wandeling van 30 minuten door een spectaculair bos en komt uit bij een kloof. Tegen een zeer redelijke prijs betreedt u vervolgens het beperkte gebied waar u kunt verblijven en de apen kunt zien spelen en baden. Het park wordt bewoond door Japanse makaken, ook wel bekend als sneeuwapen.

Ali was very accommodating with our group. He arranged everything for us, he got us as close to the snow monkey park as possible, and he gave us great tips for visiting the temple. Our children don’t do well with structured tours so this was perfect for us.
This private Snow Monkey and Zenkoji Temple tour was a great day out. Moiz was professional, punctual, and very attentive, making sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. The sake tasting was a nice bonus, and the private tour made the experience stress-free and enjoyable. Would definitely recommend.

We enjoyed our day exploring the Monkey Park. The hike through the forest was beautiful and our guide and driver (Ali and Abdul) did a great job. While we didn’t see many monkeys since it was off season, we had a great day. My advice: go at a different time of year but request Ali and Abdul to be your driver and guide!

Extremely Disappointed. "Smile" tours misrepresented what it delivers. This is a driver service only. There is no guide for the monkey park or temple. There is no sake tasting. The lunch was not good - it included the worst sushi I've ever had. This company is trying to present itself as another company that actually offers an English speaking guide to the attractions. And it takes longer than 6 hours, since they don't mention the two hour roundtrip drive to the monkey park. Our driver was a nice person but he could have spoken Japanese and it wouldn't have mattered since he barely spoke to us...
