Ervaar de dagtrip naar Alexandrië vanuit Caïro, verlaat Caïro in de ochtend voor een dagtour van Caïro naar Alexandrië met de auto. U zult de mediterrane stad Alexandrië zien. De stad heeft nog steeds enkele klassieke koloniale architectuur en Romeinse overblijfselen. Je zult de oude catacomben, de pijler van Pompey, het Romeinse amfitheater, fort Qaitbey en de indrukwekkende nieuwe bibliotheek verkennen

Het is een necropolis van 3 subniveaus uit de 2e eeuw na Christus. De catacomben combineren aspecten van de Egyptische, Griekse en Romeinse cultuur in haar kenmerken.
Je gaat ook door met het bezoeken van de pijler van Pompeius, een van de grootste monolithische zuilen ooit gebouwd; het is een enkel stuk rood graniet van Aswan.
Ga vervolgens naar het Romeinse amfitheater, een goed bewaard gebleven marmeren theater waar ooit 800 toeschouwers zaten. Eens werd het omringd door de Romeinse baden, villa's met galerijen, delen van mozaïekvloeren en een pleziertuin.
En dan, blijf de bibliotheek van Alexandrië bezoeken, het nieuwe bibliotheekgebouw werd ontworpen door het Noorse huis. Het is een opvallend stuk modern design dat in contrast staat met de oude architectuur in heel Egypte. Bovendien heb je vrije tijd om de bibliotheek binnen te gaan, hoewel de lokale gids je de bibliotheek binnen laat zien.
Ten slotte verken je het 15e-eeuwse verdedigingsfort Qaitbay. Het ligt aan de Middellandse Zeekust en is gebouwd op de plek van de oude vuurtoren van Pharos. Transfer dan terug naar je hotel in Caïro

From the planning to the trip itself, Khaled was professional and business-like. We were collected on time, the car was clean and comfortable, and the driver was calm and professional. Khaled was dressed in a suit, and handled every detail with aplomb. We visited the Catacombs, Pompey's Pillar, the Citadel and the Aquarium. Khaled was knowledgeable about every attraction, and he speaks excellent English, so he was easy to understand. We went for lunch at Branzino which was the perfect ending to a wonderful day. I can heartily recommend Khaled for his professional and personalised service.
