Horseback Riding in Montepulciano
Riding through the vineyards is the old way to see this landscape and still the quietest. Stables below the town run two-hour rides between the rows and along the ridges, with picnic and farm-lunch options, at a pace that suits people who have never been on a horse.

Horseback Riding in Montepulciano — Veelgestelde vragen
Do you need riding experience in Montepulciano?
No — most stables run walking rides on calm horses with a guide front and back, and give a briefing first. Rides last one to two hours and cost around €80, often with a farm lunch included.
Where do the horseback tours go?
Out through the Vino Nobile vineyards below town and along the ridges towards the Valdichiana, with longer rides reaching into the Val d’Orcia for a picnic among the cypresses.
What is the best season for riding here?
April to June and September to October. July and August are hot for both horse and rider, and most stables shift to early morning rides in midsummer.
