My wife and I enjoyed our walk around Shambles while our tour guide - Cornelius? - educated us on York's gruesome history. Cornelius was an excellent tour guide who kept us entertained the entire way!
Witch Nix was amazing and a treasure! So thoughtful to bring water for everyone because it was so hot. We had been walking around for a few days but heard and saw a lot of new stuff, so nicely brought. Recommended!

Entertaining and informational tour about real witches in York. Learned a lot about the history of witch hunts and how women and Catholics were targeted. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and personable. We went as a family with our 12-year-old daughter.
Great experience. Cornelious Piper was informative, funny and engaging. He made sure to know everyone’s names, making it a more personalized experience.
We were a family of 5 who completed this tour. We had 3 girls 13,11 and 9 with us. The tour was an hour long and started on time. The guide Niks was easy to find in her witches outfit and broom. She was very entertaining and funny during the tour. We enjoyed our time and learned more about the old city. Would recommend if you have kids. The tour had about 17 people with us and the guide has a speaker so it was easy to hear her.
It has been a great outing. Discovering the city in a "non-touristy" way was worth it for all the stories told, and the city is beautiful.

We had the wonderful marvellous merlot doing our walk, he was amazing very entertaining and even managed to keep my mini witch n wizard entertained. The walk wasn’t just entertaining but educational too with lots of historical facts about york’s witchcraft and general history definitely worth booking to enrich your York experience!
