It was nice to see another area outside of Old Quebec City. The last winery was more worthwhile than the first two, but an enjoyable experience nonetheless.
Well for starters the pickup is not at the address they gave us. Thank goodness we were 20 minutes early. The tour was expensive and just “ok”. The Quebec wines at two of the three places were disappointing (Bacchus was the exception). The driver was competent but chatted non-stop and repeated stories of his days with the fire department. Overall an “ok” way to kill an afternoon but not what we came to Quebec for.
We loved Isle Baccus ~ our 3rd stop. The others were good but the view from Baccus, the vibe, the host ~ was all beautiful (I’ve been to countless California wineries so it’s hard not to compare 🤷♀️) I’d rate it 6/10
Our driver was funny and gave us a recommendation of a favorite wine to try (L’Heritage) which did not disappoint! Each of the three wineries was more beautiful than the next! We only wished we could’ve stopped off for ice cream at the famous place in the way back.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review, Christine! We're delighted you enjoyed the three wineries, the beautiful scenery, and your guide's recommendation—L’Héritage is a great choice! 🍷 We also appreciate your suggestion about an ice cream stop; that certainly sounds like a delicious way to end the tour! 🍦 We hope to welcome you back to Île d'Orléans again soon! 😊🌿
Positives were getting to see Isle D’ Orleans, tasting wines from the area, and meeting friendly people from various places. However, it felt like both the driver and the wineries treated us as second rate customers. One example-on an extremely warm humid day we were seated on a hot deck outside. No one had offered us water so I went into the winery and asked for some. The woman told me there was water on our bus. I found the driver and asked and he confirmed it. But I was to go to the bus and get the water. After the tasting, we got on a hot bus (typically drivers start the bus and cool it down prior to guests getting on) and he didn’t turn it on until we were a couple miles out. The tasting amounts were quite small compared to many other wineries I’ve visited. It appeared the “bus group” was tolerated but not appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're sorry to hear that some aspects of the tour left you feeling less than welcomed, as this is certainly not the experience we want for our guests. We appreciate your comments regarding the water, bus temperature, and tasting experience, and will review them with our team and partners. We're glad you still enjoyed discovering Île d'Orléans and meeting fellow travelers.
So this driver is not a guide. It seems like somebody told him to talk the entire ride, but didn’t prepare him for what to talk about or coached him on good delivery. He mumbles along from topic to topic rambling about whatever interests him. Tells stories repeatedly. Constantly lets everyone know he knows nothing about wine, “doesn’t touch the stuff.” The first wine tasting experience was good. They pitched themselves as the only one of the wineries we were visiting with food (not true, they weren’t). And they discouraged folks from using their bathrooms saying that there were ample toilets at our next winery, 5 minutes away (there were Porto-potties at the next winery). it turns out that the second winery was really a cider company. Everything we had was made of pear cider. It was fine. They actually had food as well—though it was more like chips or fresh baguettes or cheese/charcuterie boards. Final winery was beautiful. We were dropped there at 4:45 and told we were leaving at 6. We protested noting the tour has been billed as four hours (we had started at 2) and were were expecting to be back by 6. He said “yes, we are done at 6. Then I drive you back.” Since it was a group tour there wasn’t much to be done. We sipped three tasting pours of wine and then had nothing to do for the next hour or so. Drove right past a beautiful view of Montmorency falls with not a word from our driver about it. Overall, you could probably do this experience way easier if you hired a driver for the afternoon and paid for the tastings yourself. And then you’d get back on time and maybe the driver would have something interesting to say about anything. This certainly wasn’t worth it.
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback, Adam. We're sorry the experience did not meet your expectations. We have taken your comments regarding the guide's commentary, timing, and overall organization seriously and have reviewed these points with our team. Your feedback helps us identify where improvements are needed. We're glad you enjoyed some of the wineries and appreciate your candid comments.
DO NOT GO if you want to have fun! Wine tour July 25, 2026 for a bachelorette party. Upon arriving, the bus driver (guide) asks us if we are a bachelorette party. We answer yes. He rolls his eyes and lets out a long sigh. He says to us: as long as you don't talk when I'm talking!?? At the second vineyard, one of us hears him complaining to an employee about having a bachelorette party on his bus (we are 8 women between 27-40 years old, very quiet)?! Awful atmosphere because of the driver (guide). There were about ten people with us on board and people were looking at each other and wondering what his problem was. He spoke into a microphone the whole way, we couldn't hear much, like a radio that doesn't get the signal and is screeching. It was very unpleasant; he was complaining about the traffic and the cars into the microphone! The driver made us wait on the bus without turning on the air conditioning (a 32-degree day in the sun and the windows do not open). A lady in the front lost patience and asked him during every trip to turn on the air conditioning (he replied into the microphone CALM DOWN). People were dripping with sweat and some had to get off the bus because it was too hot. The driver also left the first vineyard forgetting two ladies!! A vineyard employee drove them to the second stop! The vineyards were okay, but the guide/driver ruined what should have been a beautiful day! Horrible service, I do not recommend this tour!!
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are sincerely sorry to learn that your tour did not meet your expectations. Following the feedback we received from several guests on this departure, we immediately reviewed the situation with the guide involved and addressed the issues internally. This behavior does not reflect the level of service we strive to provide. We appreciate your comments, as they help us improve, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with the enjoyable experience you were expecting.
Could not hear drivers narration because sound system was poor. Two of three wineries were very nice, one was so so. Scenery was beautiful.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the beautiful scenery and that two of the wineries stood out during your visit. We also appreciate your comments about the bus sound system and have shared them with our team so we can improve the experience for future guests. Thank you for visiting Île d'Orléans, and we hope to welcome you back again.
Enjoyed the different experiences and not having to drive. The 2nd stop (Pear Wine) was too crowded and not set up to accommodate our tour. She warned us we needed an open mind but I did not like the wine. I suggest spend more time at the last stop (my fave!) and skipping the second.
Thank you for your thoughtful review, Pamela! We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the variety of experiences and the opportunity to relax without having to drive. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the second and final stops. Comments like yours are very valuable as we continue to improve our tours. We hope to welcome you back for another memorable wine adventure on Île d'Orléans! 😊🍷🚍🍎
