Questo è l'unico tour di un giorno da Portland che va fino alla capitale dell'osservazione delle balene dell'Oregon Depoe Bay oltre alle imperdibili Cannon Beach, Haystack Rock, Oswald West, Short Sands Beach, Neahkahnie Viewpoint e Tillamook Creamery. Itinerario
Per la prima tappa del nostro tour ci snoderemo attraverso la tranquilla serenità della Tillamook State Forest sulla strada per Cannon Beach
Fermati per un caffè e uno spuntino leggero, seguito da una breve passeggiata a Haystack rock.
Prosegui lungo l'autostrada 101 fino ai sentieri della foresta pluviale dell'Oswald West State Park, dove faremo una breve passeggiata attraverso vecchie foreste in crescita fino alla spiaggia di Short Sands, un'insenatura popolare sia per i surfisti che per gli amanti della spiaggia.
Passeremo davanti al mozzafiato Neahkahnie Overlook, che anche nelle giornate nuvolose offre splendide viste sul Pacifico, in alto sopra la costa.
Dopo aver superato la vista di Neahkani seguiremo la storica Highway 101 attraverso alcune città balneari dell'Oregon per eccellenza, come Wheeler, Rockaway Beach, Garibaldi e Bay city mentre viaggiamo lungo Tillamook Bay.
La nostra sosta per il pranzo è presso l'iconica Tillamook Creamery, dove assaggerete formaggio fatto in Oregon, gusterete un pasto e guarderete il gelato fatto davanti ai vostri occhi.
Attraverseremo una delle cittadine più carine (Lincoln City) mentre ci dirigiamo verso Depoe Bay
Il viaggio prosegue verso sud fino a Depoe Bay, sede delle balene grigie residenti, delle viste spettacolari sul porto e dell'Oregon Parks Whale Watching Center.

Tour guide James was personable and friendly. We enjoying the beautiful views during the journey. Seeing so much of the Portland coast in a day was great! From whale watching to hiking in the rain forest and ice cream!!! A little bit of everything. Long day but so worth it.

It was a wonderful tour. Brandon, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable. We loved all the different activities along the coast.
Whale watching on boat for an hour and we saw several whales. Beaches were very scenic and so was the drive. Tillamook was disappointing. It is a long day.

The trip was interesting, it was my second time to the coast and the first time to Depoe Bay. Plan to go back later in the year.

Our tour guide, Brendan, was excellent. His knowledge of the area., knowledge of geology, flora, and fauna was phenomenal. The only disappointment was that we were not able to go on the whale watch boat segment of this tour due to small craft advisory. Mother nature called and gave us very choppy waters so it was not possible to go out on the boat today.
He is such a wealth of knowledge and the best tour guide you could hope for. So glad you enjoyed your time.
