Arriverete a una città amurallata che nel 1680 si avvicinò alla corona portoghese, con inviati militari e civili, a vigilare le navi spagnole che transitavano rumbo a Buenos Aires, in cerca dell'oro, dell'argento e delle pietre preziose. Conoscerai le precarie costruzioni dell'epoca, i suoi soffitti fatti a mano, i suoi faroli e le strade di pietra con disagi naturali, in una città ancorata nel tempo e magicamente conservata con il suo portone di campo militare, il suo ponte levigante e le sue cannonere.

Data del 1680, fu costruita con pietre ottenute dalla costa, servì di rifugio militare e dei feriti (ospedale di campagna) giardini e cimitero parrocchiale. Bastione di San Giovanni. Visiteremo e impareremo sull’ingresso, i campanili e l’altare maggiore.

Dietro le rovine del Monastero di San Francisco Javier che risale al 1680, si costruì nel 1753 il faro di Colonia, che combina con quello dell'Isola di Farallón, mostrando babor e stribore per l'ingresso delle navi in zona navigabile.

A very informative tour of Colonia, with historical insights tied to the steps you walk and buildings you walk by. You can imagine what life was like for the settlers and residents of history.

I’m glad I booked this tour over the one that can be booked from the ferry terminal building. There were so many people on those tours. This was much more intimate and our guide was so lovely and knowledgeable. She even helped me book a taxi with her trusted taxi driver so I wouldn’t miss my ferry. Highly recommend.
