Evora Highlights
I enjoyed our 'whistlestop' tour of Evora with our guide Daniel.
Starting with the Roman Temple (not to Diana! but maybe to Ceres) and finishing in the Jardim Publico with the Romantic reconstruction of the ruin.
I took in the explanations about Evora that followed how the community wanted to portray the thousands of years of history by embracing the diversity of the past. This vision was led by architect Jose Cinnatti. A visit to a variety of places, through narrow streets, past throngs of tourists, enabled Daniel to tell me the story of his city. Daniel emphasized to me that the diverse culture is why he continues to study the city's history, enabling him to be a great guide embracing the UNESCO ideals.

Great way to orient to the city
What a great way to get oriented to Evora! Joao took me on a personalized tour of the city and pointed out tiny bits of history only a PhD student of ancient cultures would know. It was a truly memorable experience and gave me a list of places I’ll be going back to for further exploration.

Great Walking Tour in Evora!
João, our guide, was very knowledgeable and incredibly friendly and fun. We learned alot about the history and culture of Evora -- and learned our way around a little. He made it an excellent experience.

Walking tour of the city, bone chapel, royal chapel, Roman temple

Evaro walking tour with Paulo
