In questo tour esplorerai il periodo Neolitico del Portogallo (circa 5500-3000 a.C.) e visiterai due dei siti megalitici più antichi e notevoli della regione: il Menhir di Almendres e il Cromlech di Almendres. Da Evora intraprenderemo un viaggio di 25 minuti per raggiungere il sentiero del Menhir di Almendres. Poi faremo la passeggiata di 5-10 minuti lungo il pittoresco sentiero per visitare questa impressionante pietra solitaria. Si prega di notare che il sentiero verso il Menhir è in cattive condizioni e coloro con ridotta mobilità potrebbero non essere in grado di raggiungerlo. Successivamente, continueremo a guidare tra gli alberi di sughero attraverso la proprietà di Almendres e ci dirigeremo al Cromlech di Almendres, spesso definito Stonehenge del Portogallo. La strada per accedere al Cromlech è in cattive condizioni ed è talvolta tagliata dal Comune di Évora, quindi potremmo dover parcheggiare il furgone e camminare per circa 25 minuti (1,25 km o 0,77 miglia) per raggiungere il monumento. Dopo aver finito di visitare l'Almendres Cromlech, torneremo a piedi al furgone e lentamente usciremo dal complesso di Almendres. The guides were very really easy going and incredibly knowledgeable and answered all our questions. We loved this tour, the half hour drive was enough time to learn about the surrounding area and the history of the evora region.
We had a wonderful time in this tour with Bianca and Goncalo. Their communication was very helpful as they know the area & climate very well. Their useful tips on clothing and what bring for the summer weather helped us stay comfortable and beat the summer heat. Their knowledge about the history of the area and the Cromlechs was fantastic; we had a lot of questions and were learned so much from them. We had such a good time chatting with them, they are wonderful tour guides. I’d highly recommend this tour or any tour they do.

Beautiful walk out in the cork orchard with Bianca and Gonzalo. They were very informative and fun. There was a larger tour group following us but I noticed no lectures provided- just transportation. We truly enjoyed our morning and learned so much. Wear sturdy footwear the path can be a bit tricky.

Gonzalo and Bianca were absolutely incredible today! Because of the previous storms we had to change plans for the tour, but it couldn’t have went better. This is undoubtably one of our favorite tours we have ever taken. We came away with a deeper appreciation of our ancestors that erected these structures, but humanity in general at a time when we need it the most. This tour was life changing for us. The two sympathetic archaeologists were very competent, explained vividly and interestingly.
