If I could give Sergio a thousand stars, I would. We love taking guided tours when we travel because a great guide can completely transform an experience. Unfortunately, we had several disappointing tours before this one and were honestly considering canceling. Thank goodness we didn’t. Our day started with a series of challenges. Some members of our group struggled with the climb up to the Alhambra (we definitely should have taken a taxi!), we discovered we didn’t have a ticket for our baby, and the language barrier made solving the problem even more stressful. We arrived about 30 minutes late and were worried we had ruined the experience. Sergio could not have been more patient, understanding, and helpful. He immediately stepped in to help us navigate the ticket issue and put everyone at ease. From the moment the tour began, we knew we were in great hands. Sergio provided microphones and earpieces so we could hear him clearly throughout the tour, and that alone was a game changer. His storytelling was engaging, clear, and easy to follow. So many historical tours become a blur of dates and names, but Sergio brought the history of the Alhambra to life in a way that was fascinating and memorable. By the end of the tour, we had a genuine appreciation not only for the beauty of the site but also for the people, history, and stories behind it. Traveling with a baby can be challenging, and ours had multiple tantrums throughout the tour. Sergio was incredibly patient and accommodating the entire time. He built in a break so we could use the restroom, have a snack, and regroup, which was greatly appreciated. He never made us feel rushed or like we were inconveniencing the group. He answered every question thoughtfully, helped us maximize our time in this enormous and incredible place, and at the end of the tour even shared local recommendations and gave us a thoughtful gift representing the city. Sergio is the kind of guide who reminds you why guided tours are worth it. His knowledge, professionalism, patience, and passion are truly exceptional. If you’re visiting the Alhambra, don’t hesitate. Just book Sergio. He is genuinely one of a kind, and our family will be talking about this tour for years to come.
