This was such an interesting historical walking tour of Galveston‘s previous era of prostitution. We got to view many of the historic buildings that contributedto this rampant vice through the city. It was amazing to hear stories and look at the buildings of how this business flourish in the city. it wasn’t that long ago that it was ended. Our guide was extremely professional with the subject matter and seemed very knowledgeable about all of the . We would highly recommend this tour and can’t wait to come back to learn more
Thank you for the wonderful review! We’re so glad you enjoyed learning about this fascinating chapter of Galveston history and exploring the historic buildings along the way. We truly appreciate the recommendation and can’t wait to welcome you back again soon!
We recently attended the Galveston Red Light District Tour after picking up one of their brochures, which honestly looked very appealing with the vintage photos and old-time setting. The advertising gives the impression that you may actually be touring inside historic buildings or homes connected to Galveston’s past. While the brochure does mention it is a walking tour held nightly, it was not entirely clear that the experience would be completely outdoors with no access inside any of the locations discussed. The stories and history shared during the tour were definitely interesting, and you could tell there was knowledge behind the presentation. However, for the price, we expected a more immersive experience. It would have been much more engaging to actually step inside some of the historic homes or buildings, see preserved rooms, old artifacts, clothing, photographs, furniture, or recreated settings that connected to the stories being told. Instead, most of the experience consisted of standing outside while hearing descriptions of what once took place there. Galveston has such rich history that this attraction has a lot of potential if they ever expand into an actual indoor historical experience. A restored house or museum-style setup with memorabilia and visual displays would make this tour far more memorable and worth the cost. Overall, the history itself was interesting, but the presentation left us wanting more for what was advertised and what was paid.
Thank you for the feedback. We 100% advertise "walking history tour" and we do not advertise any indoor experience or museum-style attraction - but that would be a great idea. There is "Antique Warehouse" store in Galveston that has all of the items you mention, but their store hours are limited. We do go inside when they are open. We apologize that you expected something more than what we advertised. Please give us a call to see how we can help make this right for you. We hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Galveston.
It is a walking tour and it was enjoyable finding out about the local history. The tour guide is obviously knowledgeable and personable .

Nicki is great! She was very nice, informed, and took time to answer questions. She stayed a little longer with us and that was sweet of her. She gave us some spooky suggestions. Galveston is such a neat place and tours like this are much more entertaining than a book or Google. 👌🏼

Excellent tour! Charlie gave a lot of information and made it fun. The best part were the little bits of history given that aren't in a history book. Great tour!

What an outstanding time! My family and I are "weekend locals" and decided to take a tour after dinner. What a great time. It's incredible how much history there is on the island, and how HISTORIC the space is. I learned so much about the Moody's, the Fertitta's, Vick & Anthony, and more! This tour was great, our guide was very knowledgeable and we were shocked to learn about all the prostitution that took place starting in the 1600s up to the 1990s!
