Fatima è uno dei più grandi centri di pellegrinaggio del mondo, costruito intorno al luogo in cui, nel 1917, la Vergine Maria apparve a tre pastori. Dopo aver visitato la Basilica dove sono sepolti i tre veggenti, la cappella delle apparizioni e la moderna Chiesa della Santissima Trinità, avremo del tempo libero per pregare o partecipare a una celebrazione (opzionale). Poco dopo, il tour si dirige a Valinhos, il piccolo villaggio dove sono nati i tre giovani pastori, e visiteremo le loro case, avendo la possibilità di vedere come apparivano le case della regione all'inizio del XX secolo. Sinta - Patrimonio mondiale dell'UNESCO, è stata la residenza estiva della famiglia reale dal XIV secolo. Il microclima di Sintra, dove prevale l'umidità, ha aiutato la vegetazione esuberante a prosperare. Fu spesso elogiato dai poeti romantici del diciannovesimo secolo come Lord Byron. Il famoso Santuario Mariano di Fatima è senza dubbio uno dei più importanti centri di pellegrinaggio del mondo. Milioni di persone vengono qui ogni anno per rendere omaggio ai tre pastorelli che hanno assistito alle apparizioni della Vergine Maria nei campi della "Cova da Iria". Tempo libero per partecipare alla Messa (opzionale), visitare la Cappella delle Apparizioni dove è possibile vedere l'immagine della Vergine Maria. Visiteremo anche la Basilica dove possiamo trovare le tombe di Lucia, Giacinta e Francisco (le ultime due sono state canonizzate da Papa Francesco nel maggio 2017, diventando così i più giovani santi della Chiesa cattolica). Mentre continuiamo, visiteremo la moderna chiesa della Beata Trinità di Fatima, che può ospitare 8.633 persone e ha una superficie di 40.000 metri quadrati. La chiesa fu progettata e progettata dall'architetto greco Alexandros Tombazis. Tempo concesso per lo shopping religioso (facoltativo).

E non dimentichiamo i negozi di souvenir che vendono oggetti tipici locali. Ci fermeremo nel centro storico dove avrai tempo di provare i famosi "travesseiros" e "queijadas" presso la pasticceria Piriquita ed esplorare le stradine della città più romantica del Portogallo. Visita uno di questi palazzi: Palazzo Nazionale di Sintra, Palazzo Nazionale di Pena, Quinta da Regaleira, Palazzo di Monserrate. (visita facoltativa - biglietto d'ingresso)

Viator communication with us was professional from the time we booked our tour the whole way through. The day before our tour Viator reconfirmed our booking and gave us the driver/guide name, time, place and vehicle information for pick up. Rod arrived early and was fantastic and really worked hard to ensure our entire day was memorable and he even added another venue he thought we would enjoy while in Portugal.
