Fatima è una rinomata città di pellegrinaggio nel Portogallo centrale, meglio conosciuta per le apparizioni mariane del 1917, quando si dice che la Vergine Maria sia apparsa a tre bambini pastorelli. Ospita il Santuario di Fatima, uno dei più importanti santuari cattolici del mondo, che comprende la Basilica di Nostra Signora del Rosario, la Cappella delle Apparizioni e la moderna Basilica della Santissima Trinità. Ogni anno milioni di pellegrini visitano Fatima, soprattutto il 13 maggio e il 13 ottobre, date delle principali celebrazioni religiose. Oltre al suo significato spirituale, la città offre un'atmosfera tranquilla, musei e paesaggi naturali circostanti.
Iniziamo da Alfama, uno dei quartieri più antichi di Lisbona. Poi, ci dirigiamo verso Graça, arroccato sulla collina più alta della città. My daughter and I did a full day trip to Fatima with Pedro A. He was such a perfect host! He told us all sorts of information about Portugal on the way up and back . While in Fátima, he knew to allow us time to pray when wanted, he showed us the museum and the shepherd children’s homes in addition to the sanctuary. We loved his guidance and his personality. I will def recommend him to family and friends planning trips to Lisbon.
