Mentre attraversi il complesso della Serra de Agua de Pau, puoi ammirare la caldera del vulcano Fogo, dove troverai la sua bellissima laguna.
Visitando il centro di interpretazione ambientale della vecchia caldera possiamo comprendere la formazione geologica delle nostre isole, osservare diverse specie endemiche e naturali delle Azzorre e contemplare il monumento naturale della vecchia caldera, le sue cascate e le acque termali.
Sulla strada per Vila das Furnas, ci fermeremo alla centenaria e unica fabbrica di tè in Europa, faremo una visita guidata, proveremo i suoi tè e contempleremo le sue bellissime piantagioni di tè.
Passando per le furnas, tappa obbligata è la laguna delle furnas e il campo fumarolico circostante dove vengono realizzati i tradizionali e unici stufati delle furnas.
Sulla strada per Furnas faremo una breve sosta al belvedere di Santa Iria, che offre una vista fantastica sulla costa settentrionale di São Miguel.
Arrivando al complesso vulcanico di Furnas, ci fermeremo al belvedere di Pico do Ferro, dove potremo osservare l'intera caldera del vulcano Furnas, che ha la sua bellissima laguna, la parrocchia di Furnas e comprenderne la formazione geologica.

In the northwest of the island of Sao Miguel, a volcanic landscape has developed that is hard to beat in terms of beauty worldwide. This is a massive volcanic apparatus consisting of three craters in which four lakes have formed. More famous are Lake Verde (Green Lake) and Lake Azul (Blue Lake). The names have nothing to do with the water in it; rather, it is the reflection of the forests (at Lagoa Verde), or the sky (at Lagoa Azur). Particularly impressive is the panorama, which in my view is one of the most majestic in the world, if you aim at various vantage points (miradouros). After soaking up this wonderland, head to the village of the same name, where you can admire everything from a completely different angle. There you can enjoy a little something afterwards. Since the village was repeatedly flooded after heavy rain - there was no runoff - a tunnel was cut into the rock, which now fends off this danger. Tip: For teenagers, it is a preferred place for tenderness...
We had a great tour with Tiago. As a native of the island he had so much information about all the sites. We were able to see so much since it was a private tour.
Stunning island with so many beauty spots and places of interest to see - this half day tour packed them in whilst at the same time relaxing and informative.
Tiago was a Friendly, very knowledgable guide who did a great job showing us the middle and East part of the island. Even took a special route when we expressed an interest in waterfalls. We learned a lot about the geological development of the islands which made what we were seeing that much more interesting. A terrific tour!

Lugello was a very accommodating guide. He was friendly and showed us around the island including some locations that were not included in the original itinerary. His car was spotless and comfortable.
Visiting the hot spring was special for me. Being on a private tour allowed us to see this and more areas that would have been impossible on a larger tour
What a great tour! Our guide, Thiago, was waiting for us at the port when our cruise ship arrived, and he took us around the island to see the sights. He catered the tour to our areas of interests, and when we talked to other guests onboard the ship later, we realized that we had seen sights that no one else had seen. It was a great tour, Thiago is a great guy, and the Azores are absolutely beautiful, but get out of the touristy area!

This tour is an amazing way to get to know the island if you only have a short amount of time. Our guide was very professional and accommodating. He was able to pick us up and drop us off at the airport at a time that worked with our flights. Due to the limited time, he picked the stops in the tour that worked best with our preferences and they were all wonderful locations. I highly recommend this activity even if you are only staying for half a day. This island is very beautiful and worth visiting.
