We had the best day exploring beautiful New Zealand with Drew, Auckland’s most brilliant, interesting and knowledgeable tour guide! You so t be disappointed on this tour. Just outstanding. Rotorua is magical with its hot spring geysers. Skyline adventure park was fun for the whole family, esp the ziplining and luge. An all around great day with Drew!! Highly recommend.
It was such a pleasure hosting you and reading your review. Thanks so much for your kind words about Drew and our tour and all the very best! Neill Sperath
We were lucky enough to take part in several day tours while in New Zealand, and I honestly can’t speak highly enough of the team at TIME Unlimited Tours. From start to finish, they were absolutely outstanding. Their knowledge was phenomenal, and they shared stories, history and local insights in a way that was engaging, respectful and easy to follow. They took us to a wide range of incredible locations, thoughtfully planned to give us a genuine sense of place and culture rather than a rushed tourist experience. The small touches really stood out too, providing snacks while we were in transit, checking in on everyone’s comfort, and making sure the days ran smoothly and on time. Their sense of humour made the experience even more enjoyable, while their professionalism ensured we always felt safe and well looked after. They were approachable, flexible, and genuinely passionate about what they do, which made the tours feel personal and memorable. They were truly exceptional, so, so good, and I would highly recommend them to anyone visiting New Zealand and wanting an enriching, well-run, and enjoyable tour experience.
Had a great day trip with TIME Unlimited to Rotorua. We booked a private tour with TIME and what a treat that was. When booking, I worked with Neill to arrange a pretty packed day including a walk through Waimangu Volcanic Valley, tour of Whakarewarewa - The Living Maori Village, and a visit to the Redwoods. We were picked up near our hotel at 8 by Liam and Neill, and then I cannot even begin to describe the beauty of this day. Definitely happy with my choice of destinations, and wish we could have stayed longer. Waimangu: they recommend 2.5 hrs for the full walk to the lake, and we did it in about an hour walking quickly but not missing things. Buses back to the entrance are every 40-60mins. The walk down is mostly downhill but there are some sections with stairs. Not crowded, peaceful, stunning. Whakarewarewa: so glad Neill insisted we prioritize this when booking. This was such a special visit to the village and we got to see the places where food can be cooked via steam! Learned about the history of this village and some of the history of the Māori and NZ government - missed the gift shop because it closed early, so pick up souvenirs at the start! Whole tour took about 90mins. Redwoods: we didn’t have much time to spare but so glad we got to see this magical beautiful place. Could have spent a day or so here wandering. The tree canopy walk looked narrow and chaotic, bland there are so many ground paths! Don’t get lost! The drive was pretty easy, the vehicle very comfortable, and the scenery along the way was beautiful. Liam and Neill shared so much Māori and geological history, I learned a lot and am so glad we made the time for this adventure. Originally planned to have a one way trip, but halfway through we had a travel disruption and needed to go back with them to Auckland - they were incredibly accommodating and really kind. We also got lots of tips for driving in NZ, which was an extra bonus. Couldn’t recommend TIME more and will definitely rebook for a future trip.
Our one-way tour from Auckland to Rotorua via waitomo glow worm cave was perfect due to Liam He was remarkable in every way-kind, courteous, safe, informative, on time, etc. The best guide/transfer ever!!!
After finding TIME Unlimited Tours on TripAdvisor, I reached out to Ceillhe for help planning part of our New Zealand vacation. We are a family of six with four teens/young adults. Ceillhe not only saved us from my husband attempting to drive on the left, she also guided me in shaping our Rotorua itinerary. Though our time was limited, she listened carefully to our goals and tailored everything to our interests. Her lodging and activity recommendations were spot-on—from upgrading our glowworm cave visit to black water rafting at the Waitomo Caves, to adding cultural depth at Te Puia, and the wild fun of the ZORB. Perhaps most memorable was the drive itself, where we connected with Ceillhe and learned about New Zealand and Māori culture.
A great day trip in the hands of our wonderful guide Kirsty. Saw all the relevant sites in Rotorua and the Te Puia geothermal and Māori experience is a must. Exceptional little touches with water and snacks in the Mercedes people carrier. Whilst Te Puia was an extra charge you can tailor your day to suit your own preferences. Overall great value for a private 11 hour trip.
Thanks for taking the time to write this lovely review! Here is the tour description for our "Auckland to Rotorua Private Tour": The sulphur city of Rotorua, over 200 km south-east of Auckland, is known for its geothermal wonders, lakes and authentic Maori Experiences. On this tour we travel via New Zealand’s famous Thermal Explorer Highway touring route, taking in the special region of Rotorua. Our experienced and knowledgeable Host-Guide will tell you about New Zealand and the extraordinary places you’ll see along the approximately 3 hour journey to the Sulphur City of Rotorua - one of New Zealand’s ‘hot spots’ and most visited tourism destinations. On the way to Rotorua, we drive through some truly beautiful countryside and can incorporate a tour of the Hobbiton Movie Set into this tour as an optional extra. Please note this optional extra must be pre-booked. As we approach our destination, if time permits, the Mamaku Blueberry Farm is worth a stop. Here we can have a break at the lovely café to see some real Kiwi ingenuity at work on this Blueberry Farm and Winery. In Rotorua there are many attractions and activities on offer. There is something for everyone from relaxing spa treatments, geothermal parks with bubbling mud pools, active geysers, hot springs, bird and wildlife encounters. Or enjoy swimming in natural lakes, marvel at Redwood Forest, active volcanoes or cultural experiences such as a Maori village. As there is so much to choose from, we are happy to work in with your interests to maximise your time in Rotorua suited to your interests and budget. One great thing about this Auckland to Rotorua Private Tour is that we create a tour - and attractions visited - that our guests want to visit, as opposed to what we want them to visit. That's one aspect in creating a positive experience to ensure our wonderful guests do see what they would like to see. Thanks again for your feedback! Neill Sperath
We had engaged Ceillhe and Neill before Covid and finally 4 years later we got to Auckland and it was worth the wait. We spent over three days and two nights on tour, from Auckland, to Rotura, to Hobbiton, to Sanctuary Mountain. We had the best care, We enjoyed the luxury, the education, and the care that was provided. The tour was personalized for us. We learned of New Zealand, its peopls including the Maori (Ceillhe is Maori). We highly recommend this tour, but only if you want the best. We met Neill and Ceillhe as Tour Guides, we left them as family. Our highest recommenmdation Alex and Madelyn
