Ci incontreremo alle 14:00 davanti alla Basilica Cattedrale di San Salvador e inizieremo un tour a piedi per conoscere l'influenza e l'eredità della cultura africana a Salvador da Bahia. Per prima cosa andremo al Terreiro de Jesus, dove conosceremo la storia della colonizzazione di questa zona del Brasile attraverso le azioni delle Missioni dei Gesuiti e della colonizzazione portoghese. Incontreremo anche alcune celebrità africane che hanno lavorato a Salvador de Bahia nel corso della storia.

Per prima cosa andremo al Terreiro de Jesus, dove conosceremo la storia della colonizzazione di questa zona del Brasile attraverso le azioni delle Missioni dei Gesuiti e della colonizzazione portoghese.
La Maison possiede una collezione composta da circa 200 pezzi provenienti dal Golfo del Benin, raccolti dal fotografo francese Pierre Verger durante i suoi viaggi in Africa, per studiare i flussi e riflussi tra l'Africa e Bahia. Contiene anche pezzi legati alla cultura afro-diasporica, donati da artisti e istituzioni.
Visiteremo la Scuola Olodum, un centro culturale ed educativo di origine afro dove analizzeremo l'importanza del Carnevale in città.
Crociera a San Francisco. Qui racconteremo la nascita, nel XIX secolo, di un'organizzazione maschile il cui obiettivo era aiutare la comunità nera di Salvador nella lotta per la sua liberazione. Conosceremo anche un'altra parte fondamentale della cultura africana, come le danze della samba e della capoeira. I ritmi ti faranno sicuramente venire voglia di muovere i piedi!
L'influenza africana in Brasile si manifesta nella lingua, nel cibo, nella musica, nel comportamento e nelle manifestazioni religiose. Il centro culturale Casa de Angola, situato in uno dei palazzi coloniali, costruito nel XVIII secolo, è stato fondato il 5 novembre 1999 con l'obiettivo di mantenere vivi e consolidare i legami culturali tra il Brasile e il paese africano.
Lì entri in contatto con opere che parlano di identità nera; dell'Africa come continente da cui ha avuto origine tutta l'umanità; la questione della tratta delle persone ridotte in schiavitù; di resistenza nera, quilombo e rivolte. Si imparano anche i contributi alla cucina, alla religione e alle feste popolari, così come allo sport e alla musica, che è un'esuberanza di matrici con samba, semba, maracatu e altri.
Scopo di questa associazione è il culto della Vergine del Rosario, attraverso la fedele osservanza delle regole del proprio impegno. Il Venerabile Terz'Ordine del Rosario di Nostra Signora alle Porte del Monte Carmelo – Confraternita degli Uomini Neri è, innanzitutto, una confraternita apostolica cattolica romana con un taglio africano. Ha mantenuto, con dignità e rinnovamento, nel corso dei suoi oltre tre secoli, le sue caratteristiche di territorio africano in diaspora.
L’Ascensore Idraulico di Conceição – da tempo dotato di impianto elettrico – e in passato popolarmente chiamato “Parafuso”, è stato il primo ascensore urbano al mondo. Quando fu inaugurato nel 1873, era anche il più alto, con i suoi 63 metri. Collega il Bairro do Comércio a Cidade Alta, in un viaggio di circa 20 secondi. Questo è quando non c'è coda. Quindi, nei giorni di festa in quella zona, preparatevi perché l'ascensore viene utilizzato come mezzo pubblico quotidiano da chi vive in città.

Facundo was our Spanish-speaking guide and he was excellent. We enjoyed listening to him talk about the history of the place and all the fun facts about Bahia. He is very fond of the city. He also gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants and museums. And during the tour, he was always willing to take photos of us. I would definitely choose him as a guide again.

Spectacular tour, takes you into Bahian history and culture in an express way. The guide that accompanied us, Maria, was a luxury! He not only explained every detail and answered all the questions with a lot of kindness and knowledge, but also recommended and advised us on other excursions, typical cuisine and walks. She was very attentive all the time, willing to help us, take a picture or wait if we wanted to buy something. It was certainly the best way to get to know the historic center of Salvador and its surroundings. Recommended 100%!

We did the Tour by foot Salvador and the experience was excellent. Facundo gave us a lot of historical information that helps us understand the structure of the city, as well as the evolution of it and its current identity. In addition to explaining in detail each point of the tour, he shared a lot of useful tips to enjoy Salvador beyond the tour: from little-known home restaurants to activities and places to visit that are off the historic center and off our radar as tourists. You can see his knowledge and passion for the city, after more than 16 years in it, which helps a lot to make the tour super interesting. I highly recommend doing the tour right when arriving in Salvador, because it helps to get your bearings, discover authentic corners and make the most of the rest of the trip!

We did the free tour with the guide Iara Caroline on 26/10/25 and we liked it very much. From the beginning it was passed to the group as would the tuor. The guide gave us tips on places to get to know the history of Salvador, places to eat, how to negotiate with the local merchants before accepting the services offered. Iara always very friendly, asked and showed a lot of understanding about the city. The tour is not done in many hours, but it is enough time to absorb information, know places and not get so tired or boring for the tourist, in addition to giving the same the independence to later walk better through historical places, which are countless. We recommend the tour, very well worth it.
