Avremo una vista dall'alto dell'ascensore idraulico di Conceição – che è stato a lungo collegato a un sistema elettrico – e in passato popolarmente chiamato “Parafuso”, è stato il primo ascensore urbano al mondo. Quando fu inaugurato nel 1873, era anche il più alto, con i suoi 63 metri. Collega il Bairro do Comércio a Cidade Alta, in un viaggio di circa 20 secondi. Questo è quando non c'è coda. Quindi, nei giorni di festa in quella zona, preparatevi perché l'ascensore viene utilizzato come mezzo pubblico quotidiano da chi vive in città.

Il luogo in cui si trova il Monumento alla Croce Caduta ha molta storia, con opinioni diverse. Lì sorgeva la chiesa Sé, demolita per far posto al tram (1933). Se segui i sentieri che attraversano Rua Chile, ti porteranno esattamente lì, Praça da Cruz Caída. Inaugurata nel 1999, Cruz Caída rende omaggio alla scomparsa di questa ex chiesa cattedrale, la Primaziale del Brasile.
Terreiro de Jesus è una piazza di grande importanza storica e culturale situata nel Centro Storico di Salvador, Bahia, Brasile.
Ci sono voluti tre anni e otto mesi di ristrutturazione. Ma sai quanto tempo ci è voluto per costruirlo? DICIOTTO. ANNI! Sì, 18 anni! Costruito a partire dal 1657, questo gioiello situato nel cuore del Pelourinho è tornato nella vita quotidiana e nella fede di Bahia e del mondo. La Cattedrale è uno degli edifici sacri più importanti del Brasile coloniale, testimonianza della storia del Paese e del cattolicesimo.
Costruiti tra il XVII e il XVIII secolo, la Chiesa e il Convento di São Francisco sono classificati come una delle sette meraviglie di origine portoghese nel mondo e elencati da IPHAN. Le sue maioliche portoghesi del XVIII secolo riproducono la nascita di San Francesco e sono ornate con intagli in legno modellati con polvere d'oro e con simboli barocchi brasiliani: foglie, pellicani, fiori, angioletti.

Adilson was an excellent guide and is very knowledgeable. The tour is well priced compared to others and we visuted some of the major sites in Salvador. It was a wonderful day!!!
Facundo took us to explore the historic center. It was wonderful and he demonstrated great knowledge about the history of the city and Brazil. I did the tour with my mother, who walks a bit slower, and Facundo was very patient and attentive to our needs. It was an excellent option for greater flexibility. At no point did he make us feel rushed and he offered many options and recommendations for the rest of our trip.

unforgettable highlight of Salvador. Our guide Adnelson was amazing — engaging, knowledgeable, and truly brought the history to life with every step. As visitors of African descent, we especially valued the rich cross-cultural exchanges, which made the experience feel deeply personal and meaningful. We had a lovely walk of the old town with Enrique who changed our meeting place so it would be more convenient for us. He gave us the somewhat sad history of Salvador which we found illuminating and made the occasional cooling off stop which included a delicious gelato stop. All in all a lovely morning.

Shout out to the amazing network behind this tour, everything was organized seamlessly and thoughtfully put together. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable, covering both the history and present in a way that made everything click. The guide was very knowledgeable and took us around Pelourinho and the other parts of Salvador. A great tour to do on your first day here in order to understand how the city works and where to go. The guide spoke very good french and english and gave us advice for the rest of the trip, with regards to activities and restaurants. Also explained how to deal with locals and stay safe. I would highly recommend him!
