Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of The Beatles. He shared many photographs from a notebook he brought along and we learned things we hadn't previously known about the group. He also played a lot of their music on the radio which we enjoyed. It was a beautiful day and a nice ride around Liverpool. Having said that, I do have some concerns. There were three of us: my husband, a college friend, and me. We're all about 15 years younger than The Beatles but old enough to remember seeing them on The Ed Sullivan Show and buying their albums. The cab we rode in was not comfortable for the three of us. No one was allowed to sit in the front beside the driver because that side of the car was filled with leftover food wrappers. That meant the three of us had to sit in the back and there was an immovable plexiglass partition between us which made it difficult, at times, to hear what the driver said while we traveled in traffic. Additionally, the back seat was only comfortable enough for two people and that meant the third person had to sit in the fold-up "jump seat" for 3+ hours. It was uncomfortable. The day was also warm and the windows were down which added to the discomfort. No A/C was offered. I hate to leave such a mixed review but there you have it. We loved seeing where all of the "Fab Four" grew up but it sure could have been a lot better in terms of car comfort. Would I recommend this to a friend? Yes, but with reservation. I highly recommend contacting the tour operator in advance if you have mobility issues, hearing issues, or sensitivity to heat as you'll be spending 3+ hours in the car.
From start to finish, trip ran smoothly. In addition to learning about The Beatles, we were able to see some of Liverpool.
Geoff was an amazing tour guide! We had an extraordinary great time and he is knowledgeable, thoughtful and so kind! We saw and learned so much, it felt like we had insight to Beatles info most people do not get to have. Highly recommended! And ask for Geoff, you will not be disappointed. I even had a dream about the church where a couple of Beatles sang and drew pictures ! It was surreal. Thanks Geoff!!
Jay our guide gave us a very personal tour he had a photo album he shared at the various locations. He was very well acquainted with the Beatles story and history probably due to his age like us he was an older gentleman.
Great afternoon with Paul. Helpful and knowledgable stories about Beatles lives and places.
Julie was great. We had a warm, friendly and very well informed tour. Julie made sure we were comfortable at all times. Played songs along the way that we discussed, it was a fabulous day out. It was a present for my dad’s 80th birthday as he’s a huge Beatles fan and the tour made his birthday v special.
We chose a three-hour Beatles tour by taxi. On time, John, our tour guide, showed up at the Hard Days Night Hotel. He was friendly and nice the entire tour. With a lot of patience and motivation he told us about the Fab-Four. In the car, the music of the Beatles always played. His remarks in English were easy to understand and he also waited when I had to translate one or the other to my companions. All around it was a successful event and a good basis for viewing the Beatles Museum on Mathew Street the next day. Thank you for the work of John.
Definitely highly recommend this for any Beatles fans. The private tour was very informative and definitely interesting! Places visited mirrored the young lives of the Fab 4 including childhood homes, schools, and inspirations for many of their songs. Penny Lane, Strawberry Field and Sgt Pepper era all visited along with the cemetery where Eleanor Rigby is buried.
Most amazing 3 hrs, Peter was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. His enthusiasm for the Beatles story was infectious and his love of Liverpool very evident. I would highly recommend this tour for any visitor to the city who is also a fan of the Beatles music young or old.
Our guide was fantastic! I wasn’t even a fan of the Beatles (my husband is), but I am now! Highly recommend! Very thorough and knowledgeable.
