We had Rahul Raghavan as our tour guy and he was fun and very knowledgeable. We knew a few things about the Vatican and he confirmed them and just added a lot of knowledge to what we knew and he kept it very interesting all the way through. The tour was for three hours and it seemed to go by in about an hour. He always got us seats in the various locations where we were able to sit most particularly in the Sistine Chapel and got us up close and personal with the art and the artifacts in other places. We had later Dome elevator tickets and he was able to convince the Powers that be to let us go early, which was a very nice end to the tour. We would highly recommend him for anyone that is doing a Vatican tour and based on meeting him, I would say any tour would likely be very good,.

Oltre ad essere la casa del Papa, la città del Vaticano ospita anche i Musei Vaticani, la più grande collezione d'arte del mondo con 9 miglia di arte che potrebbe avvolgere le mura del Vaticano 4 volte e mezza! Contiene 54 musei, 1400 stanze, cappelle e gallerie. Oltre alla rinomata Cappella Sistina, i musei espongono anche l'unica opera di Leonardo Da Vinci a Roma, San Girolamo, le Stanze di Raffaello e la Pinoteca, che contiene raccolte dei Papi, tutte risalenti al Medioevo e ambientate in ordine cronologico.
La Cappella Sistina di Michaelangelo è forse il capolavoro più noto dei giorni nostri, con oltre 5 milioni di visitatori all'anno. Era un progetto che l'artista ha intrapreso con riluttanza perché si concentrava sulle sculture, e si lamentava del bilancio fisico che aveva sul suo corpo. Si dice che il disegno della cappella di Papa Sisto IV, sia modellato sul tempio di Salomone nell'Antico Testamento, misurando appena più grande di un campo da basket professionale! Ci sono molti altri affreschi da ammirare qui da altri artisti, tra cui: Domenico Ghirlandaio, Pietro Perugino, Cosimo Roselli e Sandro Botticelli.
Attraverserai un'entrata segreta nella nostra ultima tappa del tour, la Basilica di San Pietro: la più grande basilica del mondo, con segni all'interno della chiesa per garantire che ogni altra basilica si adatterebbe all'interno. Il curioso visitatore viene trattato con la Pietà di Michelangelo nella parte anteriore, 150 mosaici e il baldacchino del Bernini, che è alto 96 piedi e 100.000 libbre di bronzo! - Se piove portare con sé ombrelli che siano compatti e possano essere piegati e non quelli che hanno la punta appuntita. Quello lungo dato dai vostri hotel dovrà essere registrato nel guardaroba del museo e prevede una passeggiata di 1 km per riaverlo.

We had an incredible time on this Vatican and Museum tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable but, most importantly, absolutely fantastic with our kids. They kept everyone engaged and moving at the perfect pace—we saw all the highlights without anyone feeling rushed or exhausted. Highly recommend to any family visiting Rome, best guide we had in Italy!
This was much too long and detailed. We had a party of 16 with varying interests. Getting into the Vatican was chaos splitting groups and tickets with no explanation. Rahul then started the tour and went into way too much detail. I asked him to condense, he ignored. After one hour, many had taken off their headsets and could no longer listen to the rambling on and on about brush strokes and so many other details. He would go on and on in rooms where it was packed and extremely hot. Twelve of us chose to leave early from the tour because we had lost interest. If you are a super catholic and really love art and need to know every detail, this is the tour for you. For those that want to browse through and just experience the Sistine Chapel, do not book this.

She always stopped to answer and questions and if there was an area of the tour we wanted to do, she made sure to take us! Cannot recommend enough!
