We had the most wonderful experience with Ken our guide. Upon checking in at Crown Tours we were offered the option of a private tour which we took. We will likely not return to Rome, so this was a wonderful experience of getting a personalized tour too Colosseum and the Roman forum. He included historical ideas from pre-Roman times to better understand the historical architecture of Rome and its development. He then took us through many of the ancient structures and explained their significance in a daily room in life. He included references to various emperors and their role in the development of both the structures we see in the Roman form and civilian Roman life.

Guide had wonderful knowledge of the Forum and Colesseum!! Very good at making sure we had shade we could as well as water! Spoke a little too fast!

If you're planning to visit the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and the Forum, "get your guide" is a great option. Diana was our guide and we just finished a tour with her and she was fantastic. She told the stories behind everything and answered our questions which made walking through the ruins so interesting. She also knew exactly how to dodge the crowds and kept a comfortable pace in the August heat. Easily one of the highlights of our time in Rome!
