Gestito da Senor Travel Bug, l'itinerario di questo tour è un classico della regione di Cancun e Riviera Maya, ma con due differenze principali. Guiderai su un Maggiolino Classico VW dipinto come un'auto da corsa (anche se puoi scegliere un'auto più "standard", se preferisci), e la tua Guida, un ex fotografo professionista, scatterà foto e video per tutta la giornata, tutti condivisi con te gratuitamente entro il giorno successivo. Non si dovrebbe lasciare questa regione del Messico senza visitare Chichen Itza, l'unica meraviglia moderna del mondo in Nord America. Dopo una visita guidata alle rovine, un tuffo rinfrescante in un cenote si rivela sempre molto gradito e qualcosa che puoi sperimentare solo in questa regione. La tappa finale è a Valladolid dove si passeggia per le strade e la piazza principale, magari rinfrescandosi con una bevanda fresca accanto alla cattedrale per concludere il tour in vista del ritorno a Cancun. Itinerario
Il primo luogo visitato è Chichen Itza, patrimonio mondiale dell'UNESCO dagli anni '80 e votato come moderna Meraviglia del mondo nel 2007. È considerato il più importante dei siti Maya principalmente perché ha edifici delle due ere Maya e quindi stili architettonici diversi che riflettono i cambiamenti politici, le credenze e la cultura dal 435 d.C. alla conquista spagnola nel XVI secolo, ma anche per la sua importanza religiosa per i Maya come luogo di pellegrinaggio. A differenza della maggior parte dei tour guidati, Señor Travel Bug ti porterà nelle parti più antiche e più recenti di Chichen Itza e ne spiegherà la rilevanza. Guidiamo per circa 2 ore e 45 minuti per arrivare a Chichen Itza, a seconda del luogo di prelievo.
La nostra seconda tappa sarà in genere in uno o due cenote, e sarà scelta dopo aver discusso con il visitatore le sue preferenze, ad esempio salto dalla scogliera, semplice galleggiamento, visione di strutture rupestri ecc. e potrebbe essere prima o dopo pranzo a seconda della fame e di quanto tempo è stato trascorso a Chichen Itza (un vantaggio di un tour privato). I visitatori possono quindi nuotare, saltare o semplicemente rilassarsi nelle fresche acque dei cenote che sono in qualche modo unici in questa regione del mondo. Guidiamo per 30-45 minuti dopo Chichen Itza per arrivare in questa posizione (a seconda del cenote selezionato che riflette lo stile di ogni individuo o gruppo (ad esempio cenote in stile calmo o avventuroso)
Prima o dopo il cenote ci fermeremo per pranzare, sempre a seconda delle preferenze dei visitatori. Il cibo non è incluso, ma la guida darà consigli in base alla sua esperienza e conoscenza, in base ai loro gusti e al loro budget. Potrebbe trattarsi di cibo da strada (provato e testato), un ristorante locale dove puoi visitare la cucina e vedere come vengono preparate le tortillas, un ristorante Maya di lusso o persino una pizzeria. Ci vorranno 30-45 minuti per arrivare a pranzo, a seconda del cenote selezionato per il tuo tour privato e della scelta del ristorante, in base al gusto e all'appetito dei viaggiatori.
L'ultima tappa del tuo tour classico messicano in un'auto classica messicana (o alternativa se preferisci) è a Valladolid, un magico pueblo messicano, o "città magica". Valladolid è la città coloniale spagnola più vicina a Cancun e alla Riviera Maya, il che la rende una visita degna di essere fatta per vedere un altro "volto" del Messico. Passeggeremo per le strade più attraenti di Valladolid, forse curiosando nelle sue boutique e anche nella piazza centrale, e spesso concluderemo la giornata con una bevanda fresca e dissetante accanto alla cattedrale. Guideremo per 5-30 minuti per arrivare a Valladolid e, dopo aver visitato la città magica, guideremo per circa 2 ore per tornare al tuo punto di prelievo a Cancun, Puerto Morelos o Playa del Carmen.

This was such a great tour! Paul offered customized recommendations and slight detours based on our individual preferences. He was very knowledgeable about all the stops and everything else in between. Based on the above, we definitely got a local taste of the region. Thanks again, Paul!
Our day with Paul was phenomenal. I’m an over-planner and over-thinker, so I connected with Paul months ahead of our trip, and he engaged with me immediately and continued to be a resource for questions prior to us ever meeting! Everything from booking, pick up, the tour itself, and returning to the hotel was super smooth. Zero stress from point to point. The cost of the tour is 100% aligned with value. Our day with Paul was filled with history, cultural insights, humor, and yummy food we would not have discovered without him! Our group of four opted for the Chichen Itza, Cénote, and Valldolid day, and we are so glad we did! We certainly would have booked another day with him exploring other sites and areas if we were here longer! The four of us are the on the big and tall side, so we opted for the Mitsubishi Xpander vehicle over the VERY COOL VW Bug. The ride was comfortable and quiet. This adventure was without a doubt the highlight of our visit, and should we return, we will be seeing Paul again!

The entire day was thoughtfully curated and never felt rushed or overly scripted. Paul is incredibly knowledgeable and he brought the history to life in a way that was engaging without being overwhelming, and he adjusted the depth of information based on our interests. What really stood out was how he tailored the pace of the day to us, making it feel like a truly personalized experience rather than a standard tour. Paul was recommended to us by our friend who used to work with him and we are so grateful to her for introducing us. We spent 2 full days with Paul and could have happily gone on for so many more. We cannot recommend him and his trips more highly. On the first day he took us to Chichén Itzá and on the way we got to know him whilst he explained the history of the Mayan period and that of the Yuucatan penninsula in general. Once at Chichén Itzá he continued his brilliant tour telling us about all the buildings, and combined this with his characteristic friendly and fun approach so that the whole experience was both fascinating and totally enjoyable. He was happy to go at any pace to suit our questions. After that he took us to a beautiful Cenote, timing the visit perfectly to avoid the crowds. After a delicious lunch in a restaurant he chose to suit our needs, we wandered around Valladolid with him where, once again, his immense knowledge of the area and its history made the visit brilliant. At the end of the day, driving around in his wonderful and incredibly comfortable Beetle we felt like we'd certainly made a new friend, as well as having had a perfect day. As already mentioned, we could not recommend him more highly!

What a fantastic tour from start to finish great fun! Paul was just superb from local area knowledge, to information around the ruins, He designed the tour to suit our needs and desires, kept the kids interested and included in all with interactive experiences along the way. Plus also a professional photographer so win win. The Absolute highlight of our holiday and strongly recommend to all. We Will be sure to contact Paul next time we visit Mexico again.
We had a wonderful time with Paul. We had a group of 4, and were skeptical about travelling the distance in the VW Bug, so Paul made arrangements to drive us to Chichén Itzá in a quite comfortable Audi Q5. He arrived promptly at 6:30 am, was patient with hotel security and got us on the road promptly. We made it to Chichén Itzá shortly after opening, before the vast majority of the crowds formed. He was a great guide, answered any questions we had and was very interactive. We felt very comfortable with Paul. We opted to skip the cenote experience (as we have already done similar experiences). It was great to have that flexibility. On the way to Valladolid, we stopped by a great authentic restaurant in Kaua. He showed us our lunch being prepared-handmade tortillas and pork. It was delicious. We shopped at Valladolid, ate too much, talked about our experiences and travels - and headed back. At the end of our journey, Paul sent us all the photos that he had been taking throughout the day - which was very much appreciated. I would definitely recommend Paul to my friends and family if they ever visited the area. Thanks, Paul!
