As someone who crave authenticity, this was a hands-on experience. I was surprised by the symbolism behind the colors and such intricate patterns. These artisans use techniques that have been passed down for generations. It was a chance not just to create, but also learn and connect with the cultural identity of Oaxaca.
This workshop experience showcased how artistry found in and around Oaxaca is so nicely transformative due to the amazing skill of its local artisans. For us, working with the local clay, actually also felt therapeutic. The dedication of the Alebrijes families is inspiring. Techniques passed down through generations. Overall, we enjoyed this experience.
The local artisans were eager to share their knowledge as they are passionate about their crafts. This experience was more than just a class in art; it was a beautiful connection to the local community and traditions that have shaped Oaxaca's identity.

The experience began with an engaging introduction to the two cornerstone crafts of the region: pottery and the stunning Alebrijes. I was particularly captivated by the process.
