Amerai assolutamente San José dopo questa esperienza. Guidati da giovani biologi scoprirai la natura che si nasconde nel mezzo della città più grande del Costa Rica. Potrai sperimentare con tutti i tuoi sensi una fauna selvatica che non avresti immaginato esistesse a pochi minuti dal centro. Siamo un'organizzazione chiamata Oropopo Experience, che cerca di cambiare il modo in cui viene fatto il turismo in Costa Rica, supportando giovani scienziati, ricercatori e imprenditori locali. Note aggiuntive: ** Da maggio a novembre consigliamo di prenotare la fascia oraria mattutina, ma va bene anche quella pomeridiana. • L'unico tour naturalistico a piedi di San Jose. • Esplora a piedi una delle ultime zone verdi della città con un biologo locale. • Vedere, annusare, gustare, toccare e ascoltare la natura. • Trova uccelli colorati, piante commestibili e una popolazione di bradipi selvatici nel campus. • Una percentuale dei guadagni va a Funga Conservation, una fondazione senza scopo di lucro. • Il tour per piccoli gruppi con un massimo di 10 persone garantisce un'esperienza intima

Itinerario
Visiteremo il Campus dell'Università del Costa Rica, che ospita alcune delle più grandi macchie di foresta nell'area metropolitana di San José. Nella nostra prima tappa cercheremo uccelli stanziali e migratori, insetti incredibili e piante e fiori straordinari. Parleremo di arte, storia, cultura indigena e, soprattutto, natura. Successivamente visiteremo il campus principale dove cercheremo i bradipi che vivono liberamente e, auspicabilmente, vedremo anche le due diverse specie che popolano il nostro paese. NOTA BENE: questo non è un centro di recupero o un tour del Santuario dello Sloth. Non potrai toccarli, se trovati, i bradipi saranno visti nel loro habitat naturale, il che significa che la maggior parte del tempo dormiranno sugli alberi. Tuttavia, la nostra esperienza è la soluzione migliore a San Jose se sei un vero amante della natura. Questo è un tour a piedi di 2,5 ore, alcune parti saranno esposte a un'intensa luce solare. Non una camminata pesante, ma considera le tue condizioni fisiche

This was a wonderful experience! Priscilla is an amazing nature guide and the forest on the university is beautiful! We learned so much about the local birds, insects and even saw three sloths! Priscilla patiently answered everyone's questions and set up her telescope at each stop so we could see the wildlife up close. I got wonderful photos with just my iPhone. We were able to see the wildlife much better on this tour than the wildlife sanctuary we visited the next day. We are planning a return trip to Costa Rica next year and plan to go on this tour again. Such a great tour. Really really informative and friendly guide called Mary. We saw a great variety of animals. Including sloths and carpenter bees.
We had a few hours to spare in San Jose and were keen to see our first sloths. This trip didn’t disappoint. Rigo was excellent and he took us around the reserve in the university grounds. We saw both species of sloth, one mum had a baby. Highly recommended if you have a couple of hours to spare.
It was a marvelous window to the bioiversity of San José / University of Costa Rica. Our guide, Priscilla, was extremely patient, always helpful with enciclopedic knowledge, emotional about nature. We saw sloths, birds, insects, learned about plants and conservation. We ended at the Zoological Museum at UCR. I would do it again if I could.
Incredible experience with my family, my 8 and 6-year-old children enjoyed seeing the beautiful sloths =) 💜 learning about different insects and the vegetation, our guide Dariel explained everything in detail during the tour, his experience is evident, he was very kind. 100% recommended, we returned even more in love with the sloths💜😍

On our first day in Costa Rica rather than having a rest day we booked this tour and it was a great introduction. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We were a bit uncertain about doing a nature tour in the centre of the city but we saw loads of things (including sloths!) and learnt a lot.

Our guide was very kind and took the time to explain everything to my group. He accommodated me even though I was late due to bad traffic. I learned a ton of things in a short period of time and got to see the sloths! Our guide used a telescope so we could view the sloth better! I highly recommend booking this tour!
Guide was excellent. A recent college grad. Get to walk the university of Costa Rica and see some nice urban green areas. Saw both types of sloth.
