Itinerario

This tour with Beem was a success, I arrived in Hue in the afternoon and this tour allowed me to not only discover exquisite Vietnamese dishes but the city center at night. Beem is a great guide that explains not only the dishes but also traditions and customs of Vietnamese culture. It was a luxury to be able to go with her to restaurants where you only see local people and that otherwise I could never have been lucky enough to discover. Doing this tour with Beem was not only a great culinary experience, but it was a lot of fun, Beem is a charm and perfectly combines the gastronomic tour with having a good time. In addition, Beem was available even though I took the tour a few hours in advance. I can only recommend it, doing this tour was one of the best activities I have done while in Vietnam.
This tour was the highlight of our trip to Hue. Bem is a fantastic guide who feels more like a knowledgeable friend. She introduced us to multi-generational kitchens—places with 50+ years of history—that we never would have found on our own. Beyond the incredible food, her kindness stood out; she was so attentive to our safety and dietary needs. We walked away with full bellies and a deep appreciation for Hue’s food culture. Highly, highly recommended!
Thank you so much for this wonderful review! I’m truly happy to hear that the tour was a highlight of your time in Hue. Sharing those multi-generational kitchens and Hue’s food stories with you was a real pleasure. I’m glad you felt comfortable and well taken care of. Wishing you many more delicious memories on your travels!
It was a pleasant night walking around the heart of Hue’s street food joints. Our tour guide, Bem, was the “architect” of our food adventure. Although there were only two of us, it felt like a full group tour — and it was excellent! The small size made it even more personal, and Bem was truly the one who made it amazing. She was so knowledgeable about both the food and the city, introducing us to authentic local flavors while sharing fascinating culture and history. Begin with a flavor and tasty "Salt Coffee" the unique part of Hue' local culture. Hue people create it by using their locally produced salt turning a simple ingredient into a famous name drink for the city. After enjoying salty coffee we continued our stroll to try a combo of Hue specialties such as banh beo-banh nam-banh bot loc and more. We also learned how each of them to pairs with different type of fish sauce." then next to next another food joints. This was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Hue, and we will definitely come back again in the future!
Thank you so much for your wonderful words and for joining me on the Hue Walking Food Tour. I’m delighted to hear that you enjoyed the salty coffee, the Hue specialty cakes, and the many flavors that make our city unique. It was a pleasure to share not only the food but also the stories and culture behind them with you. I’m glad the small group setting made the experience more personal — that’s exactly what I hope for every tour. I look forward to welcoming you back to Hue again one day for more delicious adventures! From Bem with many thanks!
An excellent and delicious tour! Bem was my guide and her English was excellent. She taught me not only about the food but about the history and culture of Hue. We stopped at a variety of different restaurants and (even though I’ve been in Vietnam for 3 weeks) all the food we tried was new to me and special to Hue. Great value for money. Bem explained to me that she trains and hires woman guides to help empower this community. I highly recommend you take this tour!

It means a lot that you noticed our effort to support and empower local women through this tour — it’s something I’m truly passionate about. I’m glad the experience brought you new flavors even after three weeks in Vietnam. Your recommendation encourages us to keep sharing Hue’s authentic food and stories with travelers from around the world. From Bem with many thanks!

It makes me so happy to hear that the foods were new and memorable for you, even after three weeks in Vietnam. So much laughter and fun, Bem meet us on time at the hotel, we were immediately out on the streets and alley ways of Hue. We dinesd like locals sitting on the street or in the restaurant sampling a local specialty.. we heard not only stories of Vietnam but the dishes and what made them special. As a local Bem knower the shop owners. At the coffee shop where salt coffee was invented. She was greeted with smiles and a hug because she had been out of town for a while. The visit to the coffee shop would have been worth the price of admission the salt coffee was absolutely delicious and I had the Vietnamese coffee over ice Which I loved! Don’t miss the crab soup oh my goodness that was delicious! At the end of our tour, Bem walked us a good ways out of her way to get us to the meeting point for our dragon boat! What a wonderful experience, at the end, we felt like we were saying goodbye to an old friend!
Dear Frank, Reading your words truly warmed my heart—thank you so much! I had such a wonderful time showing you around Hue, sharing stories, and introducing you to my favorite local dishes. Seeing you enjoy the salt coffee, crab soup, and all the little hidden spots made me so happy. I’m grateful for the laughter and friendship we shared during the tour. Walking with you felt less like guiding guests and more like spending time with old friends. I hope Hue will always bring back sweet memories for you, and I would love to welcome you again whenever you return. Until then, please take care and keep a little piece of Hue with you. With love, Bem 🌸

This is one of several tours I’ve taken with Hue Local Tours. This tour was designed so the participant was exposed to various local specialties. The guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The feelinf one gets from the experience is that an evening has been spent with an old friend rather than a prepackaged tour. The food choices were excellent and gave a feel for the uniqueness of Hue cuisine. Definately a bargain for the cost. I would highly recommend Hue Local Tours as a resource to more fully understand the Hue local culture.
