Descrizione

A great insight into the making of Parmesan!

Our guide was knowledgeable and enthusiast about the process of making Parmesan. She relaid the information well to the group. The problem was young children on our tour that kept interrupting the poor guide and throwing her off course. This tour is not really suitable for young children

Risposta dell'operatore

Thank you for sharing your positive feedback. We're glad to hear that our guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the Parmesan-making process and that she communicated the information well. We apologize for the interruptions caused by the young children on the tour, but this didn't depend on her or the tour. We appreciate your understanding and hope you enjoyed the rest of your visit.

Best bang for your buck imaginable

I cannot begin to state how much my partner and I enjoyed this. While the tour is short, it is informative and it gives you all the insight to the process and how a small family business makes some of the best cheese in the world (in our opinion). The tasting was amazing and opened my eyes to just how good cheese could be, and our tour guide was super sweet and was great company. With 2 weeks spent in various parts of Italy, this will be one of the highlights and something I talk about for a long time. If you are debating it, it’s worth it, and you get every penny, cent, or form of currency you pay for. I bought 1.5 kilos of 24 month Parmesan personally because I felt I couldn’t get enough, and my partner bout 1kg. It’s a lovely tour, business, and experience. It’s with the time.

Your kind words about our guide and the quality of our cheese mean a lot to us. We're glad that this visit stood out during your time in Italy and that you left with such memorable flavours and impressions. We hope to welcome you back someday and share even more of our story and cheese with you. Safe travels and cheers to many more delicious moments!

Excellent tour

Our guide was excellent-good sense of humor, knowledgeable and excellent English. We were there early to watch them pull the cheese out of the bath at the start, which I highly recommend. Be forewarned that if you are sensitive to smell, there are lots of overpowering ones happening all around!

Risposta dell'operatore

Thank you for sharing your experience! We're glad you enjoyed the guide's sense of humor and knowledge, and that you appreciated the early visit to see the cheese being pulled from the bath—that's definitely a must-see. We also appreciate the heads-up about the strong smells; it's good for future visitors to be prepared. Hope to see you again soon!

Milk to parmigiana reggiano

The morning tour was great! We got to see them taking the cheese curd from the vats and putting it in the rounds. The process was fascinating and the fact that every part of the milk is used for a purpose. There was no waste and the product you got to taste at the end was spectacular. The quality control is quite impressive.

A well done cheese tour

We arrived in time to see the cheese being made. You have to schedule the tour early, around 8 to 8:30 to see the cheese being made. They only make 10 wheels per day so when they are finished, that is it for the day. The history and the process of Parmesan cheese is explained and seeing the storage is impressive. Recommended.

Risposta dell'operatore

Thank you for your detailed review! I'm glad you enjoyed the cheese-making tour and found the history and process of Parmesan interesting. Scheduling early in the morning is definitely the best way to see the cheese being made, especially since they produce only 10 wheels per day. It's great to hear you found the storage impressive as well. Your recommendation is much appreciated!

Intimate visit to family owned parmigiana reggiano factory

This is an intimate visit with a family owned parmigiana reggiano factory that truly respects the tradition and the process. They are a "closed loop" production, producing the hay that feeds the cows, raising and milking the cows, and making the cheese. The tour walks you through the small facility that makes the cheese and shows you the different stages of production. The end is a tasting of cheese of different ages paired with a lovely sparkling red from Modena. Tess is very knowledgeable about the family factory, parmigiana reggiano, and Modena food production. She was great with questions and truly enjoys interacting with visitors and talking about Modena food. It was the number one experience of our Italy trip!

Highlight so far

Our tour guide was fantastic and very engaging with our 2 kids which made it more special for us. You wouldn’t think as a cheese farm tour as something to do as a highlight but it certainly was.
