There is no communication from the company that runs the tour, they do not answer their phones, there is no customer service, they answered me by VIATOR and tried to communicate with the tour manager but they did not answer them either, please do not book this tour with them, in the area there are many better options than this, do not hesitate to look for another option, save yourself being looking for the service providers of the tour.
We were not taken to mosquito island as it was in itinerary and for my infant they didn’t even give water and snacks. It was not well organized and was a disastrous trip ever.
Highly recommended! First stop on the beautiful island 2 stop Mosquito Point. And then Holhox had a good meal. Soda water, beer and tequila on board. 2 hours of free time on the island and then back. There was even an option to bring a bike which is included. For a buggy you pay 350 pesos for an hour
Fantastic tour, very well organized from the beginning to the end, our driver and guide Jose Luis is a true teacher in his area, guiding you through the different places as well as his sense of humor and not only remains in that, you can also talk with him any other topic. I would repeat without a doubt.
10/10 would not recommend this specific tour. It was highly unorganized and the expectations were not even met at the slightest. Save yourself the 12 hours and go somewhere else.
Of the places I visited, I liked Holbox the most, its island is very relaxing, the walks are fun, traveling in a golf cart makes the experience different, José our guide was attentive to us at all times.
The pick-up time was punctual at the time they told us, at that time we were ready, the weather was very hot, we enjoyed the beach a lot, my wife rented some bicycles and we took a good tour, the food was good, it is typical food It's a tiring trip, so it's far from Cancun, but honestly it's worth it.
TL;DR: tour bus failed to pick us up so as a courtesy, they rescheduled for a different day. The tour was suboptimal from the bus ride to the locations to the misinformation. Review of the tour company: We had an early pickup but the driver went to the wrong hotel and after an hour of communicating with an agent via text message, they stated that the driver “retired” and would not pick us up; however, would wait for us at another hotel if we found transportation to get there. As a courtesy, they rescheduled us for the following day and offered a discount. We boarded the charter bus and then were dropped off to board another bus. The tour was booked as an English-guided tour. The tour was in Spanish so we were lost most of the time since the guide translated everything before what was about to happen or after something had already occurred. The guides increased the amount of the “docking and tax fees” for everyone; we had no choice but to pay them more than what was advertised. On the way back to the hotel from Holbox, the entire bus waited as the driver and guides took a detour to a restaurant to order, wait, and then pick up their food. The drive back took 3.75 hours. Review of the excursion: The first trek from Cancun to the harbor was approximately 2.5 hours on a charter bus. The walk to the harbor was approximately 12 minutes. This tour is not recommended for those who have mobility differences since most of the roads were dirt and mud, if it just rained, and the sidewalks were very narrow with debris. The first stop was advertised as a fresh-water “cenote,” but it wasn’t one. It was a small pool surrounded by forested wetland and crocodiles and not what you’d expect from a cenote: a natural pit, or sinkhole, resulting from the collapse of bedrock that exposes groundwater. This stop was underwhelming. The second stop, Passion Island, advertised as a two-hour stop was a 20-minute stop. The deserted island was full of shrubs and bushes with a shoreline of 3 feet or less. One could walk around half the island in less than 5 minutes. There were plenty of wildlife across the way including different species of birds and flamingos! The last stop was Holbox. Since it had just rained the day prior, we walked approximately 15 minutes in cement-like mud from the harbor to the restaurant. The restaurant was not a beach-front restaurant as advertised. Most of the “streets'' consisted of fine compact sand so one could walk, ride a bike, or drive a golf cart or four wheeler around. The beach sand was just as compact. There are sun loungers everywhere to rent for approximately 200 pesos per lounge with food/drink purchase requirements. We walked the beach and noticed that the island appeared to be great for party goers with many bars, restaurants, and convenience stores. The water was warm but very dark green and or brown. The murky water could have been due to the time in which we visited (November). Overall, we were underwhelmed with this tour. If you’re in Cancun, Islas Mujeres is a short boat ride across the way with a better ambiance, bluer and clean water, and better vibes. Last, remember to bring cash to use restrooms or for fresh-water rinses on all stops.
We planned our vacations from last year and we were very satisfied, my boyfriend and I loved the Yalahau cenote, Holbox is very beautiful, the guide Mario told us where to take good photos, he was very attentive.
This was a great excursion. We did it with a family of 4 which included a 5 & 3 yo. My 5 yo did good. My 3yo not so much. We left the hotel at 6am and didn’t get dropped off until 845. It’s a long day for kids. The tour stayed on schedule as much as they could. My biggest advice is to use the bathroom before you get on the bus as it’s a long trip and there is only one toilet on the bus. They will tell you to only use it for #1 and not #2 as they will have to shut it down. If you want your infant to have their own seat, purchase a ticket for them. Other than that, they’re a lap child. Kinda like the plane. Also, I noticed no one tipped the boat help. They were surprised and happy when I handed them money. Everyone is really nice here. We love the Cancun culture so we plan to come back and do this same excursion and enjoy it as a couple.
