Il tour inizia a prenderti dal tuo hotel di Nairobi. Procedi al Giraffe Centre, la sede del Fondo africano per la fauna in via di estinzione resa famosa da "Daisy Rothschild", un vitello giraffa salvato da Soi, al confine con il Kenya occidentale. Daisy e la sua famiglia formano solo una piccola parte di un branco di questi gentili giganti, che vivono in uno stato semi selvaggio a Giraffe Manor. Imparerai anche i loro comportamenti, tratti e più educazione alla conservazione. Questi animali verranno a un muro di protezione per essere nutriti. Approfitta della tua visita quando vai al sentiero naturalistico Giraffe Centre fino al fiume Gogo. Questo è ciò che la maggior parte delle persone non riesce a vedere ed è un posto affascinante dove passeggiare nella natura, con cespugli su entrambi i lati e uccelli che danno le canzoni più meravigliose. Il percorso dura circa 1 ora andando su e giù a un ritmo rilassante. Sono incluse le tasse di iscrizione al centro giraffe.
Ti porteremo poi a David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust a fare una passeggiata nel piccolo centro dalle 11 alle 12 in uno spazio aperto, con un recinto di corda attorno. Gli elefanti più giovani escono trotterellando dal cespuglio per salutare i loro custodi che sono pronti con gigantesche bottiglie di latte. Per i prossimi 10-15 minuti puoi guardare ogni piccolo sorso e fare i gargarismi con il latte. Quando hanno finito, c'è dell'acqua da giocare. Mentre riesci a vederli giocare e scattare foto. Scopri quanti anni avevano quando sono arrivati all'orfanotrofio, da dove sono stati salvati e cosa li ha messi nei guai. Una volta che i più piccoli sono tutti nutriti, vengono ricondotti nella boscaglia, ed è il turno dei bambini di 2-3 anni. Alcuni di loro possono nutrirsi e altri sono ancora nutriti dai loro custodi. È molto carino guardarli mentre tengono le loro gigantesche bottiglie di latte nei loro bauli e chiudono gli occhi con gioia mentre fanno un rapido lavoro di diversi litri di latte.

Stephen Mutuku was an excellent guide. As we were traveling to the Giraffe he would explain about the areas we were passing by. My husband is an artist so while he drew Stephen took pictures with his cell phone. It was lightly raining and Stephen provided an umbrella for us to use. He took us to a great place to view the orphan elephants. We had a fabulous time.
My guide for the day was Stephen Mutuku. He was excellent! I am a solo traveler and ended up being the only one on the tour. Stephen was very knowledgeable and kind. 10/10 recommend!
Highly recommended tour! Learned a lot about the conservation efforts for Rothschild giraffes and orphaned elephants. Our guide/driver Stephen made sure everything was well-organized.
Giraffe centre was educational and pleasant experience, especially feeding them. Elephants, zebra and rhinoceros at the elephant location was entertaining, especially after they were fed. Driver Joseph was informative, on time, personable … excellent communicator

This activity is a must do!! It is a day pack with activities and the cutest animals. The Kobe bead factory was such a delightful surprise.. the story behind it is truly amazing. Ending with culture immersion through dance was the cherry on top of a great day. Our guide Stephen was absolutely amazing. He’s very knowledgeable, accommodating, and gave us all the tips and tricks to having the best experience. 10/10 recommend this activity and Stephen!

Organised the day trip to visit the Giraffe Centre and Sheldrick Wildlife Trust for the 11 am to 12 elephant feeding. After some trepidation about not booking direct with Sheldrick my fears were relieved. We were picked up by Steven our guide for the day at hotel and he was brilliant. It went great. He was invaluable for info and ensured that we had a perfect vantage point at the elephants. He took photos of us at the giraffes that we otherwise wouldn't have had. I am very glad we booked with Grace Patt company now and can't recommend Steven highly enough. Couldn't have asked for a better introduction to our 2 week safari tour through Kenta and Tanzania. Thank you Grace Patt and Steven. It pays to listen to guides..always.
This is a highly recommended tour. I did the half day tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Learning about the inspiring work that the Sheldrick wildlife trust do in rehabilitating elephant orphans was joyful and uplifting. And watching the feeding was a wonderful experience. Titus my tour guide, was professional and friendly.
