Visita il Monastero di Santa Caterina che è considerato uno dei monasteri più famosi del mondo ed è anche uno dei più antichi monasteri della cristianità. Si trova nel cuore della penisola del Sinai a 1570 metri di altezza nel luogo in cui secondo la tradizione Mosè vide bruciare il roveto che non bruciò. Il monastero è ortodosso ed è patrimonio mondiale dell'UNESCO. Contiene diversi monumenti come il roveto ardente visto da Mosè e la notevole Galleria delle Icone. This is an amazing place to visit. So much history to be apart of. We travelled all the way from New Zealand to see and be part of this place. Remember to wear long pants or dress to cover your knees and also cover your shoulders. We had the best guide, a local Bedouin man who was great at explaining different parts of the monastery over time. Our driver was good and the van was air conditioned. Sadly we were not provided a few things that were advertised in the tour. Firstly they changed the day of the tour, which we were not advised about Secondly the water and lunch were not provided, which was a shame. This was one of the reasons for choosing this tour. Remember to bring your own water.
Average or below average in everything. Transport car was old and uncomfortable. Guide was a nice guy but not knowledgeable about the history of the place. Lunch wasn't as expected, we were offered a sandwich from a small shop. We were not sure how good the food would be.
Lovely drive from Dahab. Enjoyed visiting the shrine and its history. The musium is worth the $2. Good contact from Hussan at the local tour company.
