Il lago Tekapo è famoso per l'incredibile acqua blu, che contrasta magnificamente con le montagne circostanti, e per la piccola chiesa sul bordo del lago. È anche un luogo popolare per osservare le stelle, grazie alla sua posizione nella Aoraki Mackenzie Dark Sky Reserve. Le migliori cose da fare a Tekapo -Visita alla Chiesa del Buon Pastore. -Scatta una foto del Memoriale del cane da pastore. -Immergiti nelle Tekapo Springs. -Osservare le stelle nella Riserva del Cielo Oscuro. -Escursione sul sentiero del Monte John Summit. -Visita all'Osservatorio della Mt John University. -Percorri la Cowans Hill Walkway. -Goditi la passeggiata sulla spiaggia di Pines.
Incredibili opportunità fotografiche. Posizione straordinaria. Le vedute del Monte Cook sono davvero spettacolari. Il centro visitatori può essere occupato e merita molti turisti. Il colore blu (turchese) è dovuto alle particelle fini di limo, o farina glaciale, presenti nell'acqua. Questo è il risultato dell'erosione glaciale. Il limo è così fine che non si deposita velocemente sul fondo, rimanendo in sospensione nell'acqua del lago.
Il Monte Cook, la montagna più alta della Nuova Zelanda, ha aiutato Sir Edmund Hillary a sviluppare le sue capacità di arrampicata in preparazione alla conquista dell'Everest. Il percorso del rifugio Muller è temporaneamente chiuso agli escursionisti giornalieri. Se hai prenotato il soggiorno al rifugio Mueller, puoi comunque utilizzare il sentiero e il rifugio. Il villaggio di Mount Cook è il punto di accesso principale al Parco nazionale Aoraki Mount Cook: dal villaggio partono numerose brevi passeggiate ed escursioni notturne. Vale la pena visitarlo anche per il cielo notturno incontaminato e per altre attività come gite in barca ed escursioni in elicottero sul ghiacciaio Tasman. Fai un'escursione sulla pista della Hooker Valley. Parti per un volo panoramico. Pernottamento al rifugio Muellerhütte. Fai paracadutismo sulle Alpi meridionali. Guarda il ghiacciaio Tasman.
Il percorso all'alba ti offre la vista dei primi raggi del sole che si insinuano sulle Alpi meridionali, inclusa la vetta più alta della Nuova Zelanda, Aoraki/Monte Cook.
Il miglior ghiacciaio della Nuova Zelanda. Goditi una passeggiata tranquilla di 1 ora: non dimenticare la macchina fotografica! (Il ghiacciaio è in lontananza dietro un lago) NOTA BENE: questa è un'opzione su come trascorrere il tempo mentre sei a Mt Cook in questo tour. Se si verificano ritardi durante il tour potresti non essere in grado di completare l'intero percorso.

Our driver/guide Mr. Deep was amazing. He conversed zestfully with my Indian parents. Deep drove well and explained the relevant spots clearly. He would stop at the scenic spots and help us take photos. Please be mindful of your water consumption, as there are limited restroom facilities along the way.
We loved how much ground this tour covered without ever feeling rushed. The stops were perfectly timed, and our guide made sure everyone got a chance to take photos and enjoy the scenery. Mt. Cook was truly awe-inspiring.
Everything was well planned from the start of the trip. Drive was amazing with breathing landscapes. Lake Tekapo was fabulous.
Let me start by saying that this was not a tour. We have done many tours throughout New Zealand and this was the most expensive and most disappointing one. There was ZERO commentary, and just a ride from Christchurch to several free locations. The ride was in an uncomfortable van that lacked wi-fi as advertised. If you have a rental car, then you can make the same trip for a huge savings. For $1500 for a family of 5, this was a disappointment at such a cost. The pickup location was incorrect, though or driver did pick us up. The tour mentioned a stop at Tasman glacier, but it was omitted from the day. Overall, we enjoyed the stops and would recommend seeing the sights that were featured, but recommend another way to get around and perhaps an actual tour.
Lavish (and Umesh) were excellent drivers and tour guides. Lavish was very accommodating to our needs and flexible. Our pick up & drop off was a breeze, flawless and the tour was worthwhile. The South Islands are simply amazing. Everybit worthwhile. Highly recommend the stops at Lake Tekapo, Mt. Cook, tge drive through 'the southern Alps', The Tasman Glacier View - even if it were raining. Please make sure you are prepared for weather with right attire and shoes (it was rainy and a little chilly for December 2024). Fantastic experience and we highly recommend this tour. Simply put, worthwhile the time, and the experience.
It was a memorable experience. The travel agent gave us a quotation that was budget friendly with all the events that we want, Everything was planned to perfection! Absolutely loved the trip! Worth every penny..

Thanks to Kiwi Horizons for arranging our trip to mount cook . We were in Christchurch for a conference and got a free day and then we planned to go to mount cook. It was so amazing day started with rain till Lake Tekapo then when we reached mount cook . It was snowing. Scenery was amazing.
