Gus was a great guide for this craft beer tour. He was very attentive and asked our preferences to make sure he chose a variety of brews we would like. He also encouraged us to stretch our palates to try some new and different tastes. One of us is not a beer drinker so he included ciders and seltzers that were refreshing.
Will was awesome and went above and beyond! He took us to several breweries and helped find drinks that we would like best! He also showed us around Seattle when he didn’t have to!
For those who aren’t familiar with the industrial areas of Seattle, be prepared to see a few unsightly and unsettling parts of the route in the form of homeless encampments. Our Tour Guy, ‘Will’ was cool and hip and was super knowledgeable of each brewery and cider house we went to. The one thing I would have appreciated is if we stuck to the plan and ate prior to starting the tour as it was explained in the itinerary. Will did ask if anyone was hungry But some said no so he made the decision to double up on empanadas at that stop. None of us were really sure about the logistics so we’re confused but eating prior to the start would have helped with the alcohol absorption. Lol The empanadas were extraordinary and definitely worth another trip down there for those alone. The tour overall was fun and enlightening and I would recommend it to others who want some education on Seattle beers and spirits!
Our "Off the Beaten Pint" tour of the Ballard brewery scene was an absolute blast, entirely thanks to our incredible guide, Will! He was exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and kept the energy high throughout the entire afternoon. Will led us to three fantastic local breweries, sharing great insider stories about the neighborhood's craft beer history at every stop. The beer selections were top-notch, the walking pace was perfect, and the atmosphere was super welcoming. If you are looking to explore Ballard's world-class beer scene, book this tour and ask for Will!
Our tour guide, Will, was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgable about the local beers and a great conversationalist. If you like trying different kinds of beers, then you’ll enjoy this tour.
This tour far exceeded my expectations. Will is a great guide and very knowledgeable about Ballard and Seattle breweries. I enjoyed each brewery stop and the food options. If you are considering this tour, don’t hesitate to book!
Beyond the Beaten Path is exactly what the title implies — a peek behind the curtain at some of the more unusual breweries in one of Seattle’s unique neighborhoods. Think founding breweries, distinctive styles, and delightfully quirky venues. This tour is a must for beer snobs and anyone looking to experience Seattle’s craft beer scene beyond the obvious stops.
Will was a great guide. Very informative and full of insights. Great bars, interesting beers and quality food. Highly recommended
My husband I were the only people on the beer crawl! I appreciate that they did not cancel since no one else signed up! We had a great time with Will! He certainly knows and loves his city and he is a wealth of information about Seattle. We learned about Seattle’s history and visited some great breweries and restaurants. The fried chicken at Cookies Fried Chicken was amazing and my husband got to try Rainier beer while which is something he had been wanting to do for a long time. I would highly recommend this tour; it was a lot of fun.
Such a wonderful walking tour! Our fantastic and knowledgeable guide Will, took us to three bars: Bizarre Brewing, Skål, and Fair Isle Brewing—all featuring their refreshing own spin on what it means to be a brew house in this Scandinavian town. Snacks—like Seasonal Skewers at Skål—were included at each stop. (Although not “Viking,” a bucket of fried chicken at Cookie’s Country Kitchen was too irresistible for our group to pass up.) Along the way, Will brought us up to speed on a bit of Ballard’s history, taking us to see the salmon fish ladders at the Ballard Locks, and walking through its lovely park and gardens. We even made a quick stop in front of the National Nordic Museum to see its towering troll guard, Frankie Feetsplinters, created by Danish artist Thomas Dambo. If you’re up for a some local brew and bites—and history—while taking a stroll through Seattle’s own Scandinavian streets, this is the tour for you.
