Questo sarà un giorno meraviglioso per te. Il nostro autista ti verrà a prendere al mattino presto dal tuo hotel di città. Dopo una breve introduzione, guiderai per 1,5 ore verso l'isola di Crescent con una sosta al punto panoramico della Great Rift Valley per la fotografia. Un motoscafo ti sta aspettando per traghettare l'isola. Ci sono migliaia di uccelli da osservare, animali che pascolano sulle rive del lago e russano teste di enormi ippopotami. Il pilota è ben informato e agisce come una guida nel lago. Dopo 30 minuti di viaggio, si arriva sull'isola e accolti dalle guide amichevoli. Ti guideranno attraverso l'isola e ti mostreranno animali e vegetazione. Dalla cima della collina c'è una vista a 360 gradi sul Lago da Longonot alla Porta dell'Inferno alla Mau Escarpement fino ad Eburu e all'Aberdares. Ci sono più animali per acro di qualsiasi altro Parco del Kenya, quindi molte compagnie cinematografiche sono state sull'isola per filmare le mandrie di gnu, waterbuck, zebre e gazzelle. Non siamo recintati per consentire alla fauna selvatica sulla terraferma di entrare in quanto perdono il loro habitat per lo sviluppo e la popolazione sempre crescente. L'ippopotamo pasce dappertutto durante la notte, poi dormiamo sotto l'acacia o riposiamo nell'acqua di giorno. La giraffa che è nata sull'isola torna a partorire; a volte vedi tre generazioni alla volta. Ieri vengono a caccia di notte ma non sono residenti sull'isola, i molti pitoni che vivono qui possono essere visti occasionalmente con un'uccisione. I gruppi di Buffalo vanno e vengono, ma sono sempre monitorati. Ti divertirai con il pranzo al sacco nel parco. Dopo 4 ore nell'isola, la barca verrà a prenderti sulla terraferma. Partirai per Nairobi con molti ricordi.

Great experience. Very peacefull place. Taxi on time. Good prices. Long ride to naivasha but good to see landscape. Perfect day trip
I booked their Crescent Island tour and, while their website said it was US$150pp, it was actually US$200 since I was a solo traveler, but it was worth the extra cost. Joseph picked me up from my hotel right on time and told me a lot about Kenya as we traveled to Lake Naivasha, with a brief stop to take in the views of the Great Rift Valley. As I'd told him that I was interested in birdwatching, Joseph made sure to find me a boatman who knew about birds for my tour of Lake Naivasha. (Once I reached Crescent Island, I was handed over to one of the island guides, Steven, who showed me tons of birds, mammals and even a reptile.) Once I rejoined Joseph on the mainland, he recommended Kifaru for lunch. It's a tourist cafe a little ways from the lake, so the prices are better than the lakefront options. He steered me away from the a la carte menu to the buffet, which all of the guides (and the well-informed guests) order. For less than US$10, I had a plate with yummy stewed beef, salad, mixed veggies, sauteed spinach and ugali (a steamed cornmeal bread). Then he returned me to my Nairobi hotel right on schedule, after a very full and interesting day.

I was alone with Julius and I really enjoyed the time I spent there with him. He was very qualified for his job and knew a lot of different things. We have been able during this day to drink Kenyan coffee, buy some Kenyan gifts, do a boat ride on Naivasha Lake and of course to see all the animals of the crescent island. We could almost touch them, it was a one time experience. It was marvelous. I think I will remember this day my whole life. Thank you to Julius who has been such a good guide during this day. Booked this tour as side activity (after big national parks) and was positively surprised. Island is very beautiful. You can see various mammals and birds from close distance, zebras and giraffes were the cutest. Whole scenery is very beautiful. Includes short boat ride as well. Driver/guide Julius was great,.too. Provided a lot of interesting information, took photos of me, gave me enough time on the island and generally was nice.
