Note to NCL travelers, Aveiro and Coimbra are a good distance from the port of Porto. That being said Tiago was one of the nicest guides we had. He was soooo knowledgeable, made an outstanding recommendations for lunch and got us back to the port in a timely manner. It was a jam packed day full of history and amazing sites! I highly recommend this tour, especially with Tiago!!!!
Our guide Tiago was extremely knowledgeable on Portuguese history and the area in and around Porto. He was flexible and made a rainy day an outstanding day
Excellent trip! Low season so the trip was private for three of us. Alex was everywhere on time and very polite, gave us great overview and tips for the towns, car is very comfortable. We scheduled a university Library visit as well, but frankly the best thing was just walking the narrow streets of the old cities. Great way to spend a day away from busy Porto
Thank you for your review! We’re so glad you enjoyed your private tour and had a chance to explore the charming old streets at your own pace. Coimbra and Aveiro have such a unique atmosphere, and it’s great to hear that Alex made the experience even more special with his insights. We appreciate your kind words and hope to see you again for another adventure beyond Porto!
Lovely car with great aircon which was needed ! Excellent guide with good recommendation for lunch. we saw so much and enjoyed the day very much. would highly recommend
Tour guide was excellent, enjoy very much and highly recommend Clare to other travelers too . Aveiro tour has been very efficient and well planned allowing us to see a lot.
The actual private tour with Alex for Aveiro and Coimbra was excellent. The mercedes car was clean and we were offered water bottle and it was a good tour including a lunch stop to try the 'Leito" and succulent pig. From start to finish the tour was great! I give this a 4 star experience. The reason for my lower rating is because of an area of improvement is needed around written communication and advance notice from the back office end of things. I signed up using the touch tour system and I got an email from a staff indicating the wrong info on pick up place on confirmation email. I emailed them back but no response so I called touch tours long distance twice to verify and it was sorted out. I also emailed them with a detailed itinerary. They responded and it's all good, On the week of the private tour,I called again for confirmation and the person who answered the phone was helpful and professional and advice us to change the pick up from 9am to 8:30am. Around 4pm the day before the tour( but I was in another tour that day), I got a text from a staff asking us to confirm how many people on the tour and requesting us to book an afternoon ticket for the Combra library . I was getting the feeling that none of the email I sent or the confirmation booking was read since I requested a morning tour for Coimbra or perhaps the person who is implementing the scheduling by email or text were receiving the info. I also wished they contacted me at least 2 days before since I have been calling them that week. My experience with the confirmation process with the inaccuracies, front and back office not having the same info, and the lack of advance notice to follow-up even though I called twice on the week of the tour made me less confident of the company.
We had a day tour with Carla to visit historical Coimbra and the coastal town of Aviero. The University of Coimbra was truly amazing especially the Joanine Library! Aviero and adjacent Costa Nova were interesting and very pretty. An enjoyable day.
The guide Tiago had such passion and great knowledge of the history of the area and if Portugal. He has such a great way of interacting with us and made sure we were well looked after. We experienced an authentic day and he made sure we could see as much as possible. This was the best way to see the cities. The transport was clean, comfortable and roomy. The lunch was a special treat and was a highlight. This was our best day so far in Portugal. Thanks to our guide Tiago. AMAZING
Alex was an excellent driver/tour guide, he was punctual, attentive, friendly and helpful on adjusting the trip to our needs. We had a great experience thanks to him. Highly recommend this private tour experience, in my opinion is the way to go!
Thank you for your glowing review! We're thrilled to hear that Alex provided you with an exceptional tour experience, tailored to your needs. We appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back for another memorable journey!
Had a really good day with Alex as our guide. It was a public holiday, so there were very few people around which was great. In Coimbra we had the library and university and chapel to ourselves most of the time! It did mean that the cathedral was closed, but we had time to enjoy a coffee and pastries at the Santa Cruz cafe. The boat trip along the canals at Aveiro was another highlight.
Thank you for sharing your experience! We're glad to hear you had a great day with Alex as your guide. It sounds like you had some wonderful moments in Coimbra and Aveiro, even with the holiday closures. We appreciate your feedback!
