Il complesso monastico di Harich si trova nella regione di Shirak, sul versante settentrionale del monte Aragats. Si compone di due chiese: San Gregorio e San Astvatsatsin, un vestibolo, un campanile, depositi, una cappella, una scuola e altri edifici. Non si sono conservate informazioni chiare sulla costruzione della prima chiesa del monastero, ma l'analisi delle iscrizioni sulle pareti dimostra che la chiesa risale al VII secolo. Harichavank era un importante centro educativo, che fiorì soprattutto nel XIII secolo. È un altro esempio del pensiero architettonico medievale armeno, un riflesso dello spirito del tempo e una testimonianza storica. Il famoso scrittore armeno Avetik Isahakyan ha ricevuto la sua istruzione primaria nella scuola locale.
La seconda città dell'Armenia, Gyumri, che era anche chiamata Leninakan, Alexandrapol, e nella versione originale armena Kumayri, era abitata dal III millennio. Dopo aver percorso un lunghissimo percorso storico, Gyumri si presenta oggi con il suo centro storico, che è meglio conservato nel centro della città. Ogni edificio a Gyumri ha la sua storia, che è ricca di spirito architettonico medievale armeno. La Fortezza Nera è una fortezza difensiva costruita in pietra nera. Fu costruito nel 1834 dopo la seconda guerra russo-persiana. La Fortezza Nera, oggi trasformata in centro turistico, ricorda ai visitatori il suo passato militare.

You will be able to see a different glimpse of Armenia via numerous small villages to reach the monastery and ultimately you will arrive at a beautiful city. The guide Hayk was very informed and in perfect English informed about every aspect and driver Vahagn was very carefull. It is of great interest to try to see the Iron Fountain if you can walk which is far away from the centre and the Blue Iron Fountain which is close to the centre.

Yesterday I was on a day trip to Gyumri, Harichavank and Black Fortress with One Way tour and I wanna say a huge thanks to our Guide Tigran who made our trip unforgettable. That was the best tour ever. He’s professionalism is outstanding and our day was amazing, full of interesting stories and jokes. Waiting forward to see him again in other tours as well. Overall a very full and enjoyable day. The tour shuttle was full and we didn't get very good seats, but really that was the only downside. The guide Hayk did a Great Job handling the tour in Armenian and English. The destinations were quite interesting and we felt that we had enough time in each place to explore fully. A very good sightseeing option at a very reasonable price!

The driver Artyom 5+ The guide Tigran 2- Please take care of your guide's training. He is ignorant of Armenian church history and provides wrong information. And he provides either wrong or half done information on everything. Which is unacceptable because he introduces Armenia to foreigners and local people. Guide's job is a serious job. And they should be very well prepared.

13.08.24 was a tour of Marmashen, Seve Bird, and Gyumri City tour, very much enjoyed everything, especially the accompanying guide Armine, very interesting to listen to, took many photos, would gladly go on tour again!
