Questo centro turistico progettato da Kengo Kuma non è solo una preziosa fonte di informazioni turistiche, ma una delle più recenti attrazioni turistiche di Asakusa. Questo edificio di 8 piani, progettato da un architetto giapponese di fama mondiale, ha una struttura molto suggestiva con l'aspetto di una pila di edifici in legno separati che sembrano accatastati l'uno sull'altro con angolazioni diverse. Dalla terrazza panoramica all'ottavo piano del Centro, avremo un'anteprima dell'intero corso del tour: non solo Tokyo Sky Tree e Asahi Flame che abbiamo appena visto, ma i punti di riferimento che vedremo tra cui la porta di Kaminarimon, Nakamise via dello shopping, cancello di Hozomon, Tempio di Sensoji e altro ancora.
Quando si avvicinano al tempio di Sensoji, i visitatori entrano prima attraverso il Kaminarimon (Porta del Tuono), la porta esterna del Tempio di Sensoji e il simbolo di Asakusa e l'intera città di Tokyo. Una via commerciale di oltre 200 metri, chiamata Nakamise, conduce dalla porta esterna alla seconda porta del tempio, l'Hozomon. Accanto ai tipici souvenir giapponesi come lo yukata e i ventagli pieghevoli, lungo il Nakamise vengono venduti vari snack locali tradizionali della zona di Asakusa. Sensoji (浅 草 寺, Sensōji, noto anche come Tempio Asakusa Kannon) è un tempio buddista situato ad Asakusa. È uno dei templi più colorati e popolari di Tokyo. La leggenda narra che nell'anno 628, due fratelli pescarono una statua di Kannon, la dea della misericordia, fuori dal fiume Sumida, e anche se rimisero la statua nel fiume, tornò sempre a loro. Di conseguenza, Sensoji fu costruito nelle vicinanze per la dea di Kannon. Il tempio fu completato nel 645, rendendolo il tempio più antico di Tokyo.
Il Sumida Park si trova vicino alla stazione di Asakusa e lungo il fiume Sumida, da dove è possibile ammirare panorami mozzafiato come Tokyo Skytree. Soprattutto puoi vedere uno splendido scenario durante la stagione dei fiori di ciliegio. Il parco è uno spazio aperto ed è molto divertente passeggiare. Ci sono sempre persone che vanno sul posto solo per vedere questa traversata. Insieme a Times Square a New York, Shibuya Crossing è uno degli "incroci più famosi al mondo".
La sua posizione tra due dei più grandi quartieri dello shopping di Tokyo, Harajuku e Shibuya, lo rende una passerella ideale per favolosi trendsetter da 20 e 30 qualcosa. Il Santuario di Meiji (明治 神宮, Meiji Jingū) è un santuario dedicato agli spiriti deificati dell'Imperatore Meiji e del suo consorte, l'Imperatrice Shoken. Situato proprio accanto all'affollata stazione Harajuku della JR Yamanote Line, il Santuario Meiji e l'adiacente Parco Yoyogi formano una vasta area boschiva all'interno della città densamente edificata. Gli spaziosi santuari offrono percorsi pedonali ideali per una passeggiata rilassante.
Omotesando è un viale alberato in pendenza nel quartiere alla moda di Tokyo Aoyama che attraversa parti dei reparti di Shibuya e Minato. L'area di Harajuku, di cui Omotesando è spesso considerata parte, ha il suo marchio distintivo di moda giovanile. Yuki was fantastic. She communicated with us the day before the trip, and the company also reached out a few days in advance. She picked us up from our hotel, and we set off by train with two family members who had mobility challenges: one using a wheelchair and the other using a walker. Throughout the tour, Yuki regularly checked in to see how we were doing, when we wanted to eat, and whether we wanted to make any changes to the itinerary. She handled all of the train costs and took many photos that we were able to download later. We would recommend Yuki in a heartbeat.

We had a fantastic private tour in Tokyo. Our guide was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. He paid particular attention to our son with a disability and made sure that everyone could enjoy the day to the fullest. In a short time we have seen and learned a lot about both Japanese culture and daily life. This tour was without a doubt one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommended!

Keita (K) was wonderful! He was very cognizant of making sure of my ability to travel and see all the locations. I was especially impressed with his working with trainsubway personnel for access. As a side note the train/subway system is amazing. Lunch was incredible. K provided great history and cultural throughout our time together. It wonderful having K make sure we had the best photo opps everywhere we went. K went over and above after seeing we had another tour scheduled in Osaka and contacted his counterpart to let them know what our particular interests are. We started with a great tour guide and finished with a friend. Highly recommended this tour and Keita as your guide. Thank you.

It was our first time in Tokyo and our first time vacationing with a wheelchair and Masaharu Kai guided us through the must see attractions and subway stations with confident ease. Not only did we see some amazing places and stopped at culturally significant food stalls and tempura restaurant, but we left the day with all the information and confidence we need to continue exploring the city on our own for the remainder of our stay. Wonderful day out with a very kind, friendly, patient, and helpful guide. We managed to have really good tempura lunch at a local Japanese restaurant and see a lot of the famous sights. Also got to try the local trains! When we wanted to buy some good coffee, he was knowledgeable and brought us to a couple of great shops! Recommended for wheelchair users. The guide (Masaharu Kai) kindly offered to help push the wheelchair, even though it was outside his job scope to do so! Highly recommended.

This tour was a great way to travel around several must-see areas in Tokyo! Our tour guide Keita was incredibly kind and knowledgeable, and he made it easy for us to get around with a wheelchair-bound member of the family. We also felt a lot more confident using the subway independently after our experience on this tour!

Masaharu Kai is one of the best walking tour guides my husband and I have ever had—and we travel often! This was truly an outstanding experience. I have limited mobility, which usually makes standard walking tours difficult. Masaharu made everything easy and enjoyable. His extensive knowledge of Japan’s history and culture, combined with his attention to accessibility, made this tour exceptional. Every site we visited was wheelchair- or rollator walker-friendly, which is what Japan calls “barrier-free.” We moved at the perfect pace, navigated trains effortlessly, and Masaharu knew exactly where to find elevators and accessible routes at temples and shrines. I never felt rushed or excluded. Each stop was full of surprises, delicious food, and fascinating history. If you have limited mobility, I strongly recommend booking a tour with Masaharu Kai. He goes above and beyond to ensure everyone has an unforgettable experience!
