Sceglietela dalla nostra Guida turistica presso il vostro hotel tra le 8:00 e le 13:00 oppure incontrate la Guida al punto d'incontro alle 7:40 o alle 13:00. Poi dirigetevi verso Piazza Tienanmen, la più grande piazza pubblica di questo tipo al mondo. Situato nel cuore della città di Pechino, è il sito per massicce parate e raduni. Questo era il sito quando nel 1949, da una tribuna su Tiananmen (la Porta della Pace Celeste), il presidente Mao proclamò l'istituzione della Repubblica Popolare Cinese. Per motivi di sicurezza, Piazza Tienanmen è una piazza recintata circondata da basse griglie di ferro con quattro ingressi principali - est, ovest, sud e nord. La piazza è ora aperta al pubblico fino al tramonto, ma tutti i turisti devono superare un controllo di sicurezza prima di entrare nella piazza. Così sono stati predisposti dei check point a tutti gli ingressi che conducono alla piazza.
Dai un'occhiata all'esterno della Memorial Hall del presidente Mao, il Monumento agli eroi del popolo, la magnifica Sala Grande del Popolo, il Museo Nazionale della Cina, l'antica Porta Zhengyang e la Torre delle Frecce e la Torre di Tiananmen che porta a la famosa Città Proibita.
Poi passa al Palazzo Imperiale, noto anche come "Città Proibita", il più grande e meglio conservato antico gruppo di palazzi imperiali con 500 anni di storia. Acquisteremo il biglietto in anticipo per saltare la fila. Il palazzo fu costruito tra il 1406 e il 1420, ma fu bruciato, ricostruito, saccheggiato e rinnovato innumerevoli volte, quindi la maggior parte dell'architettura che si può vedere oggi risale al 1700 e in avanti. Avrai un tour in evidenza della Città Proibita. In seguito, finirai il tour all'uscita nord della Città Proibita. Fantastic trip for the day. We chose this as our day 1 trip to get up and used to the time change after a long flight. Lucy was amazing as she kept our group together and taught us about the history of the forbidden city as well as recent discoveries. She had a good sense of humour as well which made the trip even more fun. I would recommend this trip if you wish to learn about the history of the forbidden city but to also stretch your legs and get moving for the day.

Thorough and excellent forbidden city tour, however we only drove past the Tianmen square and did not enter as expected, which was a little disappointing. We were told this is due to significant lines at the square to enter. We will have to book a trip to the square soon.
