Alfama non è solo uno dei quartieri più antichi e pittoreschi di Lisbona, ma è stato anche uno dei pochi a non essere distrutto nel terremoto del 1755. E così, la città mantenne ancora il suo fascino familiare. Infatti, il soprannome di questo quartiere deriva dall’arabo ‘Al-hamma’ che significa ‘sorgenti termali’ o ‘bagni’. Decorati con bellissime piastrelle, i vicoli ripidi e tortuosi di questo quartiere lasciano il posto a una vista mozzafiato su un mare di tetti di terracotta e sul fiume Tago. Gli aromi della cucina tradizionale Portoghese, gli echi del fado e la conversazione degli anziani Portoghesi rendono questo quartiere uno dei più autentici di Lisbona! Il Castello di San Giorgio è un castello storico della capitale Portoghese di Lisbona, situato nella parrocchia di Santa Maria Maior. L'occupazione umana di Castle Hill risale almeno all'VIII secolo a.C. C., mentre le prime fortificazioni costruite risalgono al I secolo a.C.

Very informative tour. Valeria was excellent and very knowledgeable. Half the tour is walking uphill but plenty of stops to break it up. Great photo spots on the way and at the top. Well worth it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was such great and informative tour - ideal to get a first taste of the multi dimensional city of Lisbon. Jack was a lovely guide, you could follow him easily - even for people who are not so firm in English, because he speaks clearly without any accent. And you have enough time to place all of your questions. I loved everything about this tour!
